I absolutely agree, however it is the definition of love that brings about disunity. Love is where the divisiveness comes in. Disunity comes in because some one believes differently than the group. They don't consider loving one another as themselves, they are considering whether it is right or wrong. The definition of love defines a person's doctrine. To give you an example, I started a thread on How do you see Jesus. i waited long enough to get a few responses and then asked the second part of this question, How does how you see Jesus fit into your doctrine? (something like that) This is what Christianity has boiled down, how one sees Jesus and then they find supporting scriptures to back up their beliefs. This causes disunity. As for building unity in churches, can it really be done by our efforts alone? It's kind of like world hunger and peace on earth. I don't mean to be pessimistic or sound like a doomsdayer...... I just don't have a good answer for you[&o]
