Have you ever sworn by a product that you thought was amazing, but it ended up discontinued by its manufacturer? What products are these?

I had a neighbor who ADORED Illuminations Pink Grapefruit candles. Obsessed with them would more like it. Every morning she would light her kitchen candle and every evening she would sit in her bedroom reading while she got her last scent-fix of the day [:D]

Well, one day she called me all upset..I thought her cat had died or something. She had just received a catalog and, alas, her beloved pick grapefruit was listed on the "discontinued" page. She promptly ordered CASES of the things.

Then she started calling and emailing the company. She was persistate that, before it was all said and done, she was actually emailing back and forth with the president of the company. Once he every emailed her to say that they had found a few extra cases of Pink Grapefruit candles in a storeroom and they were sending them to her as a special gift.

I am fairly sure that the poor man had hired private security guards at this point [8D]

She finally got over her mourning and moved on a to new obsession.

We still tease her about it.

One annoying thing about living here, is every once in a while a company will sell an American product here for a short period of time and do this every once in a while.

I became addicted to Ruffles Sour Cream and Cheddar chips when they started selling them here and was very disappointed when they stopped selling them (they have brought them back once since). So whenever we would go to the US, I would bring back bags of it.

That and Fanta Grape, but they have started selling it here again.

McCormick Pork seasoning. They discontinued it and I bought about 12 bottles of it. It's kind of like poultry seasoning but for pork. I had to order it off their website. I did give a bottle to my mom though

they aren't discontinued... just not available in Tx, still available in Pa. =)

Gibble's white cheddar cheese curls
50/50 soda
white birch beer soda
Tasty Kakes (cupcake type items)
Funny Bones (sort of a chocolate cake with peanut butter filling, encased in chocolate frosting)
lots of others...

um, totally discontinued:
Victoria's secret Raspberry Glace` scented lotion, shampoo, etc...
Xia Xiang perfume
several other perfumes throughout the years

can find once in a while:
Bath & body works: flowering herbs scented stuff

goodness... there have probably been tons more that I can't even think of right now. =)

I dont know if its discontinued but I have been craving Shocktarts candy and cant find them anywhere. I literally went to every store and gas station in my town...nothing![:(]

I had a major craving for them a while ago. I couldn't find them anywhere. I looked online and saw that they are discontinued. I actually cried. I have tried other brands, but they just aren't the same. Pregnant women need Planter's cheese balls.

anything B&B discontinues.
My faves were peach, and green apple. They have a sparkling peach scent now, but it's not as good as the original was.

Sandy, watch their Semi-Annual sales! They make a wonderful walnut scrub that I adore, but I can only buy it during the S/A sales. I usually stock up, and I think I still have 4-5 in my cabinet[:o]

Body Shop Original Vanilla perfume (and bath oils, etc) ... they replaced it with another vanilla which makes me very queasy. Bring back the good one!!!

"Spring Rain" products by Crabtree & Evelyn. The soap has a wonderful, delicate, clean scent. I bought two packs of soap when the sales person told me it was being discontinued. It hasn't run out yet, thank goodness![:)]

Does anyone know the name of that purse they had an infomercial for that can change patterns? It has a base and then you can change up the patterns? I hope that didn't discontinue. I want one!

O'Grady's Potato Chips

I used to love the sour cream and cheese flavor. Although Lay's has a sour cream and cheese Ruffles potato chip, I miss the thick O'Grady's. [&o]

I THINK I found my Shocktarts. Except they were at Sams and I couldn't convince myself to buy a 24 pack...they were packaged the same but called "Shockers." Now to see if I can find THOSE in a store....
