Sorry to hear about the price increase. The Canes just introduced their prices and packages for next season. Looks like I'll need to move back to the "cheap seats."

The Flyers are taking out their frustation on the Pens but don't think they will get it done at the Igloo on Sunday.

Flyers!!!

Up with hope! Stars and Flyers to win the next three!

I'm delusional, but at least I get to see more hockey!!

Flyers win Game 7 in Pittsburgh, in 6 OT's!!

Stars shut out Wings in Game 7, 8-0!!

I think I'll stop here, I believe I'm losing my mind!

A good night and blessings to all!

colliefan -> RE: NHL Conference Finals (5/16/2008 7:19:55 PM)

NBC is hoping and praying the Stars/Wings game doesn't go into OT as the game starts at 3PM and their coverage of the Preakness is scheduled to start at 5PM.

If this happens they are supposed to switch the game to VERSUS. Too bad DirecTV won't all us to pick up the Canadian feed.

Two hours for a hockey game? That's only 2 to 2-1/4 periods at most. If I were the NHL and they cut the game short I'd sue! They can always tape delay a horserace. People can watch it on the internet live. But if you're going to start showing something, FINISH IT BEFORE MOVING ON TO SOMETHING ELSE!

[Rodney Dangerfield sounding voice] Hockey gets no respect! No respect!

colliefan -> RE: NHL Conference Finals (5/17/2008 5:18:34 PM)

NBC moved the start time to 1:30PM. Stars came on strong and forced game six on Monday in the Big D.

BlindLemon5103 -> RE: NHL Conference Finals (5/17/2008 7:51:51 PM)

I had to work today, and thus didn't see the game, but when I heard the results, I was overjoyed!

Still on that comeback trail with the Stars! 2 down, 2 to go!

Still unlikely, but if they can win Game 6, anything can happen.

One would think all the pressure would be on the Wings in a Game 7.

All that said, there is a reason why only three teams in the history of sport have rebounded from a 3-0 deficit...it's REALLY hard to do!

I hope the Flyers can do the same thing tomorrow in Pittsburgh.

colliefan -> RE: NHL Conference Finals (5/17/2008 9:32:10 PM)

Think the Stars will win on Monday and force a game 7 at the Joe. The Wings have a history of winning the Presidents Thophy and choking. If it comes to a game 7 the Stars have a chance

Think the Pens will close it out at the Igloo tomorrow

Here's the history of the Wings choking.

Year Playoff Result
1994-95 Lost Stanley Cup Final (NJ)
1995-96 Lost Conference Final (COL)
2001-02 Won Stanley Cup (OK, they didn't choke this year)
2003-04 Lost Conference Semifinal (CGY)
2005-06 Lost Conference Quarterfinal (EDM)
2007-08 ???????

Will the 2007-2008 Playoff Result read Lost Conference Final (DAL)? I am beginning to wonder.[8|]

Lemon and colliefan you both are starting to look like a hockey prophets!!

colliefan -> RE: NHL Conference Finals (5/18/2008 9:15:41 PM)

Well, the Pens manhandled the Flyers to advance to the Finals. Don't know if anyone from the team touched the Prince of Wales Tropphy as it is bad karma. During the year the Canes won the cup, they had the trophy on display during the Finals and even the fans wouldn't touch the thing.

Yankee Nut -> RE: NHL Conference Finals (5/19/2008 12:18:06 AM)

The Pens looked good today.

They certainly did and I think they are going to take the cup. Looks like a team like that of the early 90's has emerged.

BTW, I prefer playing the air guitar as well. It saves a lot of money on strings![;)]

colliefan -> RE: NHL Conference Finals (5/19/2008 12:09:46 PM)

The Pens play in one of the older arenas in the NHL. It was a neat picture showing all the A/C units blowing cold air into the place. Would be a bast to be at one of the games.

BlindLemon5103 -> RE: NHL Conference Finals (5/19/2008 8:46:54 PM)

So much for my prophetic gifts!

Wings up 3-0 already in the first period!

Oh well, time to jump on board the Penguins bandwagon....

If by some miracle the Stars come back, disregard this post. (I'm not too optimistic at this point).

Sportsnet (A TV Channel Up Here) was doing a segment on the Pens and compareing them to the 83 Oilers and like u said the early 90s Pens. I personelly don't remember either team. I really got into Hockey in 94 but as a hard core canucks fan we are not talking bout that.

Glad u like my quote. It is the only way I would be a rockstar
