ORIGINAL: Consecrated2God Obviously, it doesn't mean you are grown up, I'm just referring to little girls wanting to look older than they are. Like Sunnymom, I'd be wanting to know*why* they were wanting to look older, what was behind it.

That question is one that makes me laugh...is there a way you can stop your kids from growing up? I think the answer has to be- every day. Every day encourage them to be the best person possible and every day remind them how special they are to you and to God. My daughters didn't come to me for advice when they were 13 and 14 about their clothes etc nearly as much as they did after the age of 17...I think they may have not been interested until they became interested in dating. My youngest, in college, still wants me and her step-mom to go shopping and help her pick out a dress for special events..why? I have no idea.

Tee hee... I just took my girls for spring photos and I put some of my very natural toned blush and tinted lip gloss on my 3 year old. I'd have never thought to do that if I hadn't been reading this thread, and I really think it worked for the photo. You know how pale people can look even paler with flash photography (sorry Manda). I tried a little mascara too, but I washed it off - it seems that a 'little' mascara is hard to do.
