Reign Down USA- the day that changed the nation, the music that changed the day
Washington D.C, April 26th, 2008. Three thousand Christians of all denominations and all race, gender, and age gathered together in prayer and repentance. Joined in through live feed thousands more watched the event across the nation at venues held in parks, stadiums, football fields, churches, and in one case, a hair salon. Many more watched from home as God TV broadcasted Reign Down USA to the world.
“Reign Down USA was the most beautiful gathering I have ever been to,” Patrick Spear of Laurel MD states on the Repent and Believe web site “I felt nothing but love all around me.”
Reign Down USA started as a vision by a self proclaimed “house wife” of Arizona. In her vision the country would come together as one and plead for forgiveness as a nation under God. With the help of her father Pastor Walt Kallestad, Trent Franks- U.S congressman of Arizona, and President Bush (whom in a proclamation read by Mr. Franks stated that George Bush was in fact joining the nation in prayer that evening from the White House) her vision was brought to realization in the form of worship.
Most of the day was lead by Michael W. Smith who sang his own song “Healing Rain” as well as many others. Gareth Robinson received a warm response for his song “Heal our land” as the crowd sang along. Tears rolled down joyful faces as they danced and praised the night away.
"I think the music made the day" one believer said as she mouthed the words to Come and Reign with her hands held up to the sky. "Let the music rain down" she cried!
