It didn't imply that God was okay with turning believers into torches.

Prayer for someone doesn't automatically mean a prayer for their blessing. If you read through Psalms, you'll also find that it's legitimate to pray that God destroy and kill those in power that are enemies of God.

I was assuming that the people on here we well versed enough in their own bibles to know that.

If you were to start a thread regardind precatory prayers about half of those posting on the thread would say that Christ's message in the NT did away with that type of prayer and as well, David was an exception... Some of those folks also believe the Flood is just a story, and Joshua's actions at Jericho could not have been ordered by God...

Don't assume....

John

Is there anything that people agree on anymore?

So, what do we do with these 50 million after they are born to mothers who obviously don't want them and quite possibly can't care for them? Any suggestions?

My friend wanted her child but out of fear of what her parents would do or say she had an abortion. Today that child would be an adult and probably a taxpayer.

Sometimes it's fear that drives a woman to the abortion clinic. Sometimes it's ingornace and her lack of knowing all the options avaliable to her and her unborn child.

Today many people have to adopt outside the USA because there is a shortage of newborns up for adoption.

It's not like 50M abortions occur in one year. By now many of those would be adults with children of their own.

I use to work with pregnant teenagers. NONE of my girls chose to have an abortion. That was twenty five years ago. To date none of those mothers have come to me and said they "regretted" giving birth to their children. NONE of those early twenty something have come to me and said "why did you encourage my mother to allow me to live, you should have told her to abort me!!!"

My good friend who had the abortion when she was a teenager killed herself after she had a child and realized that she did in fact murder her first child. So that child was left without a mother to help raise him. Today he is working and about to be married.

I have heard people in our church say that democrats are better with the economy then republicans.

Ask them to give you specifics and explain how it was the democrats that were responsible for it.

There was a time that any couple desiring a child only needed to get with an adoption attorney and they would have no trouble getting a baby. Now just like you say people have to go to foreign countries to get a baby.

Sadly the people I most hear saying the economy was stronger with the democrats in charge are mostly business owners who want more money. I think that is all they are thinking about.

I apologize. I did not know what point you were trying to make.

It is easy to forget that we are not all on the same page. There is so much about conversation that is missing when we are typing on a computer screen.

Hi Leslie, what do you think about your question? About who is better?

The Dems are better at vaccuming my wallet to fund their hare-brained schemes. I'll give 'em that...

Wow. For all the complaining on this site about obstructionist Dems when Republicans had Congress AND the Presidency, I don't see anyone holding Republicans responsible for their recent obstructionist tactics. I guess some will blame Democrats no matter what happens.

A Republican president took us to war. It's been going on for 5 years now. They're still calling it emergency spending so it won't have to be part of a balanced budget. And it's not - it's added directly to the national debt, so future generations can pay it off with interest.

You'd think after a while someone would say, "Hey, isn't running up our debt BAD? Shouldn't we PLAN for this in next year's budget?" But instead they're still fighting for tax cuts.

My family always taught me, don't ever buy it if you can't pay for it. People complain about "tax and spend" Democrats. But at least they bother to pay for their spending. Republicans just spend us further into debt.

Yup, Dems are better with the economy.
