Memaw. -> Don't Forget The Lyrics (5/9/2008 10:26:12 AM)

Does anyone watch this besides me?

Do you think you could get on it and win the million?
I think I could, then reality hits me and I know I would probably go blank and not even remember the words to the alphabet.[8D]

I watch it if I happen to have the tv on and see it.

I could never win the million because when they start putting up basically any song after about 1991 I don't know because I stopped listening to secular music about then[&:]..

I think it would be neat to have a Christian "Don't forget the lyrics." [sm=thumbsup.gif]

That would be neat!

I just saw this show for the first time last night. I liked it. It's fun to see how you thought what the lyrics were and what they really are [:D].

The only annoying things are

Waay to many commercials and the buildup of tension and anticiapation with the long pauses I know it's to make it more exciting but I'm like get on with it and decide already LOL!

It's a nice show but I don't think I could bear watching it every week [;)]

That is why I TiVo the show. They do drag it out way too much. Same reason why I TiVo Deal or no Deal.

Memaw. -> RE: Don't Forget The Lyrics (5/9/2008 1:17:14 PM)

I agree, those annoying build ups get to me too.

Especially when I know they have the right words.[:D]

saraimay75 -> RE: Don't Forget The Lyrics (5/9/2008 1:56:49 PM)

I really like this show the people make it fun.

I know! That's like with last night's episode when the guy did "movin on up" from the Jeffersons. The sentence was right. What else could it be. But they made it drag on so long and even try to make the guy doubt the answer. [8|]

I have to admit the last contestant, the girl, was a really good singer. I wouldn't mind tuning in next week to hear her sing.

Ohhhh, yes!
I was so irritated on that one!
I was like, come on dude, you KNOW those are the right words.[&:]
They went through two sets of commercials till he finally said, lock in those lyrics.[:@]

The girl was a decent singer, but she sure can't dance..LOL
I'm going to watch it next week to see how far she goes.

Did anyone watch the episodes when Bret Michaels from Poison or Kevin Cronin from R.E.O. Speedwagon played for charity?

Bret still sounded pretty good, but Kevin is losing his vocal edge.

This is exactly what is wrong with our Christian "subculture". We say "Wow! The secular market is doing something really cool! Let's make a Christian version of it!"

And we wonder why we are the tail and not the head in our society.....

As for the show, it is very good. Wayne Brady has always been fun to watch ever since his days on "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" I didn't care for the celebrity episodes, but the normal "regular people" shows are always a hoot....

wareaglekd -> RE: Don't Forget The Lyrics (5/12/2008 2:38:19 PM)

I would never do well on that show. I absolutely cannot understand Elton John. Since that is a common category, I would not do well. I'm 46 & still don't know the words to most of his songs. It's just too gibberish for me. So is a lot of Michael Jackson. k

angie4God -> RE: Don't Forget The Lyrics (5/12/2008 3:33:07 PM)

What's fun about this show and Karaoke is when you think you know a song, then when they show the lyrics, you realise you only really know the chorus [:D]!

How true!
And then you realize that you don't even know that right...LOL

peculiar_lady2 -> RE: Don't Forget The Lyrics (5/13/2008 12:00:17 AM)

lol...too true. My hubby thought the flintstones theme song was something totally different until I pointed out when he was 32 yo that it says "...They're a modern stone age family..."...I can't remember what he thought it was, too many years ago, but it was nothing like the real words!!! LOL

VisitorinWaiting -> RE: Don't Forget The Lyrics (5/13/2008 7:49:34 PM)

I love this show. Sometimes I think I could go on and win a lot, and other times, I'm sitting there staring a the TV, thinking, "Where did this song come from?" or "I would have totally messed up on that one!" Then, I'll start thinking of people I know that I think could win...maybe one day I'll call them and convince them to go on with me as their backup singer...and then to share some of their winnings with me!!! LOL

I do the same thing![:D]
My 19 year old daughter is convinced we could win the million, but I'm not so sure.[8D]
Now my 15 yr old says that if they would only play songs that she knows then we could win.
She is such a dork.[:D]

Leslie_JnJs_mom -> RE: Don't Forget The Lyrics (5/13/2008 11:55:51 PM)

I love the one with the little boy, that kid can sing!

Memaw. -> RE: Don't Forget The Lyrics (5/16/2008 11:56:22 AM)

I watched it last night and wanted the lady to win so bad!

Milli Vanilli???
I remembered the chorus for that song, but the verse?
I didn't even remember it had a verse.[:D]

BLAME IT ON THE RAIN

BLAME IT ON THE RAIN

I wasn't really sure how much I wanted her to win. She wasn't really one of those that I connected with enough to pull for...for some reason. Hubby didn't want her to win at all. LOL Yeah, when they said, "Blame It On The Rain by Milli Vanilli," I almost spit out the food in my mouth. I had to hold my hand over my mouth. I said, "I know the words to this.." then once it started...I was like, "I don't remember that being part of the song...This is how it went... Blame it on the rain, yeah, yeah, blame it on the stars that shine at night, whatever you do, don't put the blame on you, blame it on the rain." Hmmm...I guess that's what lip synching will get ya!

amybreit -> RE: Don't Forget The Lyrics (5/16/2008 2:16:52 PM)

My dh said she should've asked if she could lip synch it!!![:D]

IceQueen15 -> RE: Don't Forget The Lyrics (5/16/2008 4:16:02 PM)

I watch the show dont forget the lyrics 2... and sometimes my mother knows some of the lyrics of the songs they play... but probably ya'll do 2.. if ya'll r like adults.. u know... know more songs then me besides it seems some of the songs i dont know.. plus i listen to only christian music... i think... lol. [:D]

Roberta_ -> RE: Don't Forget The Lyrics (5/19/2008 1:39:30 PM)

I watch it from time to time. I know I couldn't win a million dollars on it.

Memaw. -> RE: Don't Forget The Lyrics (5/22/2008 12:21:41 PM)

I don't think I could win the million, but I could walk out of there with a handful of cash.[;)]

Only if I had the nerve to sing in front of others.
