I want to know what a community pool is? Hopefully you and Nathan can find something fun to do Ruth I had a good time with my friend yesterday but now the housework has piled up and I have woken up feeling really blah and its FREEZING outside (and inside) so I just want to stay in bed all day!

Community pool is just a pool for the neighborhood or town.

Yup. The Aquatic centers usually have slides and cool things for kids.

Ah, see for us, a community pool is for a specific housing development, and everyone who lives there pays a monthly fee that goes towards pool maintenance and lifeguards.

This is where we went swimming last night: The River swimming Today we are going to a water theme park, it's the hottest day of the year so far, so it will be busy, but i bet it will be a lot of fun! We are going with a friend of mine, and Chase's "girlfriend" and some of their family. We're just going to meet them there after lunch so that it's not too long of a day. They have a small kiddie pool and a splash pad there so that will be fun. We can also take the kids on the lazy river ride (floating around in a tube) and of course, there will be lots of adults there to watch the littles so us moms can hit a few slides too! I'm pretty excited!

Here a community pool is part of a housing development like Ruth stated. A public pool is one that is open to anyone in the community. We leave for vacation today with some friends of ours. We are going to North Carolina, staying in a cabin right on the river. I am so excited! I doubt there is internet access there other than dial up so I probably won't be on until Sunday when we return. That is probably a good thing I need a break from the computer now and again. Somehow I packed all three of us in one suitcase which I don't know that I have ever done that before. We packed light since we are cooking a few nights and doubt we will leave the cabin a whole lot. Well I need to finish cleaning before we leave and finish some last minute packing.

The water in the river is beautiful, it was so nice last night. It's above 80F for sure... warmer than my mom's pool!! When I was younger, anything from 75F to 80F was normal in the pool. The river is much warmer. I'm going to take my pool thermometer next time we go, I want to see what it is!

I miss the rivers in TN....but they were frigidly cold even in mid summer...lol. We used to go all the time though. I am determined that today I will get my house back in order. I had it cleaned when I left for the hospital...then I came home to a mess because people were in my house the whole three days I was gone.....tons of people were here...and no one cleaned!!!!! ....but anyway. Then the first week I was home the kids were all sick...passing some stomach bug around that whole week. Paul goes back to work today though, so it is house cleaning day!!!!! Justice got a swing yesterday and he loves it!!!! I got the kids rooms, my room, the bathroom, and hall all ready to just vacuum last night...so today is the kitchen, dining room (floor in there is so nasty I don't even want to walk on it ), and the living room. (I am slightly annoyed that everyone would leave all this cleaning for ME to have to deal with when I got home from the hospital...trying to let that go, but it's really hard, esp when I worked so hard to get the whole house so clean before I went in). Anyway, that's my goals today...then tomorrow it is to get the pool up and running...Paul isn't so good at it, and I couldn't deal with it before now. Hopefully by this weekend I can get it going good. Oh and laundry...I have about five loads to do.

ORIGINAL: manda59 I have never ever heard of this - what on earth are they putting into your chickens?! Lots of stuff that is not supposed to be there, like hormones. Nope. It's federally prohibited. No hormones or antiobiotics in ANY chicken. Turkeys, yes. Beef, yes. Chicken, no. It's a common misconception. (My husband is in the poultry production industry). Tyson just got a law suit slapped on them by other poultry companies because they advertise "no hormones or antibiotics" on their packaging, which leads consumers to believe (and effectively) that the other poultry companies' chicken contains them. And they don't. So they are being forced to remove that from their packaging. (I know that conversation was a few days back, but I had to chime in, it's our livelihood, lol). Hey ladies! I'm still at my in-laws and trying to catch up here. We've been here since last Thursday, and the kids and I will be here through Sunday. It's been a great getaway! My in-laws have dial-up, though, so I'm not able to get on very often. It's too big of a pain, LOL. We camped all weekend and then spent the day in St. Louis on Monday. We took Isaac and Isabel to the science center. They had a great time! When Isaac saw the Arch, he said "Oooh! A big pretty rainbow!" LOL! Yesterday hubby left to go back home and the kids and I spent the afternoon at SIL's daycare. She had 78 kids yesterday. It was L-O-U-D, lol. They were all supposed to go swimming but it stormed, so everyone was going a little stir-crazy. I escaped to the kitchen and cleaned. Isaac and Isabel had a great time playing with the kids, though. Donna -- great avatar!! I want to see the rest of your pics, but I'll have to wait 'til I'm not on dial-up Chelle -- have a great time!!!!
