I want to thank God for my mother. I have a wonderful relationship with her: she knows me VERY well, understands me, and despite a generation and cultural gap we still know how to talk to each other in a very fluent manner.
Her love, wisdom, kindness have been huge influences in my life. I spoke to her tonight (Sunday - Mother's Day) and on Friday, and I told her that hers is the greatest love I've ever known AFTER the love of God. I'm very proud of her and am very grateful to God for having given me such an intelligent, sensible, and loving mother.
I also want to pray for my good friend "F." F is my closest friend and we've been talking more lately. He and I are in similar situations in life and both wish to settle down. Please pray that the Lord shall send to F the woman the Lord chose for F, and that F will overcome any frustrations, insecurities, or worries he may have in this current situation.
And I want to thank God for everything HE has given me. IN very recent time when I pray I force myself to thank the Lord for all the wonderful blessings He's given to me. I also remind myself during prayer and when not in prayer that God is not a cosmic vending machine; yes, the Lord loves me and wishes to bless me, but the timing, manner, and blessings he chooses to bless me with are HIS, not mine. I am not to demand; I am to come to God in humility and gratitude for the fact that He is My God and that He loved and loves me.
