raspberry331 -> Would you rather be the driver or the passenger? (5/12/2008 9:04:59 PM)

Would you rather be the driver or the passenger? I like being the driver.

bford64 -> RE: Would you rather be the driver or the passenger? (5/13/2008 3:25:11 AM)

Driver. Being driver seems to keep me occupied thus taking out the bordem of a trip no matter short or long.

Tinkerbell_ -> RE: Would you rather be the driver or the passenger? (5/13/2008 8:35:19 AM)

Depends on who I'm with, but I would have to say driver. Occasionally I need a break to play my DS though. [8D]

DaveW -> RE: Would you rather be the driver or the passenger? (5/13/2008 3:15:04 PM)

passenger definately.

I have always disliked driving.

_MavericK_ -> RE: Would you rather be the driver or the passenger? (5/13/2008 3:46:46 PM)

depends on the person who would BE the driver. backseat drivers are such a pain, i let them drive. but generally i love driving. especially fast.[&:]

uncabeeil -> RE: Would you rather be the driver or the passenger? (5/13/2008 4:08:57 PM)

Passenger unless it means being in the back seat. Then I either drive or stay home. Beats getting carsick.

magdaleine -> RE: Would you rather be the driver or the passenger? (5/13/2008 5:51:28 PM)

Driver. I don't do well as a passenger. I was in a serious accident as a wee little girl (about half a year after the photo in my avatar was taken) and though I'm a lot better than I was 30 years ago, I am in a lot of fear and tension if I'm the passenger.

WhiteRoseBlessings -> RE: Would you rather be the driver or the passenger? (5/13/2008 5:53:41 PM)

I'd rather be the driver; most people do not drive the way I would prefer they do. [:D]

But since I don't drive (as in not at all), at the moment, I'm a passenger . . . a very picky passenger about who I choose to ride with.

sunshine4God -> RE: Would you rather be the driver or the passenger? (5/14/2008 12:32:40 AM)

The passenger.I love sitting next to people driving and chatting with them in the car.

OneOfHisJewels -> RE: Would you rather be the driver or the passenger? (5/14/2008 1:21:16 AM)

The passenger. If/When I marry, I really hope my husband wants to do most of the driving.

WhiteRoseBlessings -> RE: Would you rather be the driver or the passenger? (5/14/2008 11:55:56 AM)

You bring up a good point. When I was married, CS always drove (never mind the fact that I don't drive - heehee).

But him, I very much liked the way he drove, and I loved being the passenger.

There's one other person that I can think of, off the top of my head, that I enjoyed being a passenger with; and I was in the back seat at that. He was an excellent driver.

With some people though, I truly close my eyes and pray.

PrincessDonna -> RE: Would you rather be the driver or the passenger? (5/14/2008 6:14:39 PM)

Driver. I am an obsessive control freak. Other people's driving scares me.[:o]

OneOfHisJewels -> RE: Would you rather be the driver or the passenger? (5/14/2008 8:28:38 PM)

Donna, doesn't your husband drive for a living, though?

I thought it was just this year you stopped driving, though. Perhaps I'm mistaken?

zoebob -> RE: Would you rather be the driver or the passenger? (5/14/2008 8:34:40 PM)

passenger. I hate driving. If I could have a maid or a chouffer I'd have a chouffer (I know that's spelled wrong"

Rebekah, I haven't driven since 2000.

LOL!

Zoebob, I've often said that if I could afford a chauffeur, I'd live slap out in the middle of the country; and then I could just pretend that I'm in the movie, Driving Miss Daisy [:D]

Yes. My theory is he has to pay such close attention when driving his truck and then slacks off on paying attention in a regular car.[&:] Most of our real fights have revolved around his driving.[&o]

A for instance...if you hit a deer with a big truck, there is usually little to no damage and it would be more dangerous for a big truck to stop quickly than to just hit the deer. In a small vehicle, that is not the case. He doesn't watch for deer like I do, super attentively at peak hours (dawn and dusk). I truly believe this is because in a big truck...you just hit them and don't even stop.[>:]

Oh, I'm sorry.[&o] Well, I lost my license due to medical issues in '96, and finally got it back in '06, so hopefully, you will be able to get your license again, too.

[:o] This reminds me that I have known military pilots who were bad car drivers![:o]

Thanks! When I moved from AL to WY, I decided not to get a driver's license but rather just a state i.d.
I've given a lot of thought to this; especially over the past couple of years.
I'm not sure that I necessarily want to drive again.

It would be very nice to take trips whereever I wanted to go without having to fly; and it would be heavenly to live out in the country . . . but I still haven't reconciled whether I really want to drive again or not. I've even considered getting a license (once I can ethically and legally do so again) but only driving when I go on a trip and using my trike for everyday stuff. Maybe I could be a little old lady who lived out in the country and drove her car into town once / month. [:D]

I'm glad you got your license back! 10 years is a long time.

Was the adjustment from driving to not driving easy or hard for you?

What about the adjustment from not driving to driving again?

Why couldn't you? Or is that something you don't want to answer in public?

WhiteRoseBlessings -> RE: Would you rather be the driver or the passenger? (5/14/2008 11:32:49 PM)

No, it's not realy a private thing; I've spoken about it here in the threads.

Depending on which state, one has to be seizure-free for anywhere from 6 months up to a year.

My personal goal (regardless of the state) is a minimum of one year. When I get to that, I'll re-evaluate and do some more praying about it.

Going from driving to not driving was easy, because I HATED driving before.

However, going to driving again was a joy! I was surprised, but over the years I prayed I would be a better driver when I drove again, and I think God answered that prayer. Of course, now I drive a Volvo, and before I drove a '68 Ford Mercury, an unmanageable boat, so I think that makes a difference.

cherish405 -> RE: Would you rather be the driver or the passenger? (5/15/2008 4:04:21 AM)

Passenger. If I drive, we wouldn't be going anywhere as I can't drive.
