Yes ... I do as much online banking as possible ... online banking is included in my chequing account package. I'm an at-home mom of 4 (soon to be 5) so I really like that I can do the banking while the kids are having a nap.

I love the convenience of online banking...I can keep track of my spending and saving at home. My dad still uses phone banking, I'll never understand why.

No, I don't have interent or a computer. I really don't want to. Cutting checks is something I do every day of my life. It's like brushing my teeth - I don't even think about it.

WhiteRoseBlessings -> RE: Do you bank online? (5/13/2008 8:31:44 AM)

I voted yes, but I should have voted other.

The only online banking I do is reviewing my accounts and transferring money; I don't pay bills online, though.

I pay bills online, do internet banking, and do transfers online. The time saved is wonderful.

I started using online banking last year and I really like it. It is convenient, it saves time, it saves checks (saving trees and money), it saves stamps and envelopes, and I feel like I have more control of my account and when bills get paid. I also earn 4% interest with no minimum balance because of the type of account I have.

Brooke313 -> RE: Do you bank online? (5/15/2008 5:10:55 PM)

Yes. I love the fact that I can balance my checkbook every week instead of once a month. It helps me keep track of it better. I pay some bills online, however, I never use automatic draft. It is hard to keep track of money that way and I want to make sure the money is there before I take it out myself.

zoebob -> RE: Do you bank online? (5/16/2008 7:30:06 PM)

I have my account set up so I can check it any time online. I can also have the bank send checks for me. Some things like my gas bill it does an etransfer of funds. Other things like my landlord it sends a paper check. I do have my gas, rent, and insurance automatically. However, the bank sends me an email to remind me before they send it out and then after htye send it out.

danas_mom -> RE: Do you bank online? (5/17/2008 12:52:56 PM)

LOVE online banking and bill paying. I like to pay bills directly at the site though, and not everything has that feature.

LOL hubby recently had to get another car and it came time to make the first payment, I looked all thru the payment booklet looking for the online address to make the payment, before I finally realized they didn't have the option. Then I had a 'you gotta be kidding me!' moment of irritation that I was going to have to actually write out a check and mail it in each month.

Miss Giggles -> RE: Do you bank online? (5/17/2008 12:56:55 PM)

A lot of auto finance companies do let you pay online, but my loan wants 10.00 to do it.

So I will mail it (if I pay extra) or just transfer the money since my checking account is at the same bank.

I voted no, but I want to give it a try. I can check my balance and get my statement online, but our bank charges $5/month to be able to pay bills that way. I don't write enough checks to make it worth the cost. Although with the price of stamps going up, it's getting pretty close.

zoebob -> RE: Do you bank online? (5/19/2008 9:26:55 PM)

My bank offers online banking and charges $4.95 a month unless you send at least one check by online bill pay a month.

My wife is not comfortable doing yet... She prefers the old fashion way...[8D]

2jsmom -> RE: Do you bank online? (5/22/2008 11:10:20 AM)

Several of our payments come directly out of our accounts, or the vendor allows us to pay online. The only things I can't do online are send checks or transfer balances. Now that our bank has gone with online statements, I should probably check again and see if they've gotten rid of the fees for checks.

uponeagleswings -> RE: Do you bank online? (5/30/2008 1:50:29 AM)

We do online banking with our local credit union...have for several years. The online bill pay is free. Nearly all of our bills are paid directly from our credit union account (as opposed to through the vendor's website). The only bills that I write checks for are the mortgage, and tithing.

lexie -> RE: Do you bank online? (5/30/2008 2:01:14 PM)

We do all of our banking online. We use two institutions and neither of them are "walk in" banks. They have offices and customer service people, but that's only for desk stuff, there aren't any tellers. So we do all of our banking online, being a SAHM it's nice that I can do my banking whenever I want and not have to worry about bank hours and stuff.

LCannon -> RE: Do you bank online? (5/30/2008 2:49:22 PM)

'Other'. I try to use my credit card and pay online using my Money Market account monthly but I can't 'bank' online because I don't have a bank account; only a brokerage account. I like to write and mail my 'ministry' checks. It make me feel more connected.

iwillfearnoevil -> RE: Do you bank online? (5/30/2008 3:01:30 PM)

it's awesome. i love being able to set my mortgage and tithes to go out automatically every month and not be late. i only have one bill that does a pull from my account, otherwise i do a push from my account via online bill paying. i prefer to go to a company's website and pay my bill via debit card to get points however. plus my bank changed when money comes out for online bill paying, and it's less intuitive now.

How are you here if you don't have interent or a computer?????

I check my balance daily and balance my checkbook daily. I do all my bills online. I love it. I'm not late for anything anymore and I dont' have to buy stamps or checks. I've had the same box of checks for about 4 years now.

Grace-N-Mercy -> RE: Do you bank online? (6/7/2008 11:55:25 AM)

Yep! It helps me avoid late fees and the hassle of writing a check a day or two before payday to get the bill to the company when my due date is on my pay day.

Also, it makes sense to pay bills online. A few years ago, we had a problem with someone stealing checks from our mailboxes in my neighborhood. Some people's accounts were compromised. I write very few checks these days, and none of them go into the mailbox (saves on stamps too, but it takes forever to go through a book of stamps... and then the price goes up before they're used up).

I agree about the bills due on pay day, I love that I can go in first thing in the morning and get it paid online and not incur a late fee, instead of having to mail it a few days before and pray that it arrives on time but not early enough that they process the check before payday.

That's one thing I really love about the new Forever stamps, you don't have to worry about adding a .01 or .02 stamp even if you have the "old" ones.
