Brandy -> RE: EmilyAnn's baby thread! (5/27/2008 2:57:33 PM)

oh my gosh Donna you made me laugh.

I just woke from a nap and was a bit worried about the lip thing but HELLO you are so right. and we've seen her stuff already on ultrasound so... well geez.

I think I need another nap. [8D]

PrincessDonna -> RE: EmilyAnn's baby thread! (5/27/2008 3:00:42 PM)

LOL, Brandy...if you want another nap, go for it![:D]

EmilyAnn -> RE: EmilyAnn's baby thread! (5/27/2008 3:06:53 PM)

Are y'all teasing me? [8D] I only got 2 1/2 hours of sleep last night (this morning) and I have tried twice to take a nap since then. My body just will not fall asleep.

PrincessDonna -> RE: EmilyAnn's baby thread! (5/27/2008 3:08:45 PM)

((((((((((((Emily))))))))))))

Sounds like you're going to sleep really, really well after baby is born![:D]

Brandy -> RE: EmilyAnn's baby thread! (5/27/2008 3:15:09 PM)

Emily do you have any idea what is causing the lack of sleep?

EmilyAnn -> RE: EmilyAnn's baby thread! (5/27/2008 3:22:12 PM)

I'm not sure. It is probably a combination of the back and hip pain, heartburn, and an overall restless feeling. I can't settle down. I can't sit, stand, or lie down for long. I feel like I have to move constantly, but moving hurts because of my hips. It is very frustrating. I am worried if I don't get some rest I will not have the strength and energy I will need for labor, but I just can't sleep.

that is exactly how it is for me most pregnancies (this time so far it is not...so far!!!). That's why I always say that I sleep much MUCH better after baby comes then I do before they arrive. As for the strength you will need during labor, just remember that when the time comes your body will kick in with what you need. You may be exhausted for the labor part, but when it comes time to push I find that my body gets that adrenaline pumping and everything comes out just fine. Just try to relax as much as when we can...rest how you ca best...and don't wear yourself out.

Mrs.Wifey -> RE: EmilyAnn's baby thread! (5/27/2008 3:33:04 PM)

Emily, have you tried a Chiro for your sciatic pain? They did me wonders[:)]

EmilyAnn -> RE: EmilyAnn's baby thread! (5/27/2008 3:56:09 PM)

We can't afford it.

It isn't just sciatic pain, but joint and muscle pain too.

Brandy -> RE: EmilyAnn's baby thread! (5/27/2008 4:13:32 PM)

know anyone that does massage that you could barter for?

I have a coworker/friend who is like 2 credits shy of a massage degree and we trade stuff all the time for her to massage me.

I'm sorry you are so miserable. no fun.

EmilyAnn -> RE: EmilyAnn's baby thread! (5/28/2008 11:24:48 AM)

I got 5 hours of sleep last night!! Yippee!! It doesn't seem like much compared to my usual 8-10 hours, but it is twice as much as I have been getting recently. I actually had the energy to take a shower, unload the dishwasher, and do a load of baby laundry.

Now I'm going to eat some lunch and try to take a nap. Even if I don't sleep I am going to make myself lie down for an hour.

reach -> RE: EmilyAnn's baby thread! (5/28/2008 11:32:58 AM)

Congratulations!

I was thinking of you last night. Can you stand in the shower to ease your muscles? Also, we have a home made rice bag, that when we heat it up, it helps with muscle relaxation.

Glad today is better for you, Emily!

isaacsmom -> RE: EmilyAnn's baby thread! (5/28/2008 2:59:19 PM)

Glad you got to sleep!!!!

I've read that it's not advisable in the 3rd trimester.

My doc had me taking Benadryl 'round the clock (every 4-6 hrs.) during my last few weeks to help take the edge off my PUPPPS.

Tylenol PM is OK though, isn't it? Or not?

Brandy -> RE: EmilyAnn's baby thread! (5/28/2008 3:45:14 PM)

Tylenol PM is Tylenol and Benadryl [:)]

I asked midwife this morning and she said what Donna said, class b, not a huge concern, take it but don't OD on it.

Emily, I'm glad you got sleep!!!! Feels good I bet to feel semi-normal again.

Did you do anything different last night?

EmilyAnn -> RE: EmilyAnn's baby thread! (5/29/2008 2:42:36 PM)

I REALLY want to have this baby this weekend. Chris and I keep talking to him and trying to convince him to come out by tempting him with promises of lots of kisses and cuddles, plenty of yummy mommy milk, and fluffy cloth diapers, but it hasn't worked yet. LOL

Strength4Life -> RE: EmilyAnn's baby thread! (5/29/2008 2:52:22 PM)

I'll be praying for you this weekend that David will make his entrance to the world.

LOL, Emily - that's too funny! Let me know what works so I can coax June Bug out in a week and a half!

Brandy -> RE: EmilyAnn's baby thread! (5/29/2008 6:46:36 PM)

Emily have you looked online on ways to start labor naturally?

I have to admit.. I've used an acupressure place the last few days a few times a day and finally had like 3 contractions this afternoon. Who knows if the pressure point worked but I was all excited for about 15 minutes [:D]

We got our camcorder today so we can have her now [;)]

reach -> RE: EmilyAnn's baby thread! (5/29/2008 6:53:19 PM)

What is your birth plan? Are you waiting for things to go natural? Or are you planning on inducing if he does not show up soon?

EmilyAnn -> RE: EmilyAnn's baby thread! (5/29/2008 7:32:24 PM)

Reach- I am having a home birth, so we are going 100% natural.

Brandy- tell me more about the acupressure? I haven't tried that yet.

I am taking red raspberry capsules and evening primrose oil to help "get things ready" but they won't help start labor. I am trying to walk as much as I can (but it HURTS) and sit on my birth ball a lot. I am also trying to um...spend time with DH often. [;)] So far, I am not having contractions, I don't think. I have a ton of pressure down there and some sharp stabbing pains in my cervix and a dull aching back.

Brandy -> RE: EmilyAnn's baby thread! (5/29/2008 7:42:53 PM)

Here is a list of Natural Ways to Induce Labor

I've tried the webbing between thumb and index finger. I may have massage friend come this weekend and do a few other points with a nice massage to boot. She has avoided downward pressure on my shoulders and low back since it can also cause contractions in some women.

But, in reality.. the babes will arrive when they arrive and I'm ok with that. For now. Ask me again in 2 wks!!

nicole6598 -> RE: EmilyAnn's baby thread! (5/29/2008 8:15:12 PM)

Emily all those things you are experiencing are part of the end, just hang in there as much as you can and try and enjoy yourself and do things for yourself because it sure gets hard once babe comes along :) Praying for you as I know how hard those last weeks can be!

reach -> RE: EmilyAnn's baby thread! (5/29/2008 9:16:01 PM)

Awesome! I did not know what your plan was! That is so cool at home.
