EmilyAnn -> RE: EmilyAnn's baby thread! (5/30/2008 2:32:11 AM)

I had some really painful contractions from 11:15-1:30 tonight, but they have stopped now. They were coming about 7 minutes apart and lasting for a little less than a minute. I really thought something was happening. I hope I can get some rest tonight and then they start again tomorrow.

reach -> RE: EmilyAnn's baby thread! (5/30/2008 9:59:39 AM)

Awesome! You get some contractions, then you get some sleep! Was good to you last night!

EmilyAnn -> RE: EmilyAnn's baby thread! (5/30/2008 10:20:32 AM)

I got a little sleep. About 4 1/2 hours, which isn't bad considering some nights I have only gotten 2 or 3. No more contractions yet today. I have a midwife appointment at 3:30 and then Chris and I will try to go for a walk around the neighborhood if it isn't too hot. It is supposed to get up to 85 today and the overnight low is only 75 and is is super humid. I don't like summer.

Royal.Fortress -> RE: EmilyAnn's baby thread! (5/30/2008 12:53:53 PM)

Yay for painful contrax!! LOL I haven't gotten any painful ones, although my BH are getting more and more uncomfortable, and I will have them sometimes 30 seconds long, 5 minutes apart for a couple of hours. David will come when he's good and ready =)

Yes, but if he is as stubborn as his mama it will be the end of June before he decides to come out. [8|]

Royal.Fortress -> RE: EmilyAnn's baby thread! (5/30/2008 1:12:43 PM)

LOL - that could very well be true!

Flintejae -> RE: EmilyAnn's baby thread! (5/30/2008 1:14:41 PM)

Hey Emily!!!! I'm excited to hear that your body is getting so ready to have your baby!

EmilyAnn -> RE: EmilyAnn's baby thread! (5/31/2008 9:24:02 AM)

I posted new belly pics in my blog!!

ChelseaRae -> RE: EmilyAnn's baby thread! (5/31/2008 1:33:42 PM)

You look fantastic Emily! I'm sure you are feeling very pregnant and want your little man in your arms instead of your belly but you really do look beautiful! I am so excited for your birth!

Flintejae -> RE: EmilyAnn's baby thread! (5/31/2008 3:39:05 PM)

Look at that belly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You look Great!!

peculiar_lady2 -> RE: EmilyAnn's baby thread! (5/31/2008 4:08:10 PM)

WOWZERS EMILY!!!!!! Who was it that said before that you were "sooooo small"....that sure is a big jump from that!!!! You are HUGE!!!!! LOL (BTDT....so I am not trying to be rude, but wow you really popped out these last few weeks!!! The last pic I saw of you was probably three weeks ago or so...MAN....David sure is growing healthy and big!!!)

EmilyAnn -> RE: EmilyAnn's baby thread! (5/31/2008 4:43:14 PM)

LOL!! Yep, not small any more. It was so strange because for a while I was really small and hardly gaining any weight. Then in the last trimester I got really big and gained a lot. I have now gained a total of 40 pounds!! [&o]

I am hoping I don't have a 10 pound baby in there. [:o] Chris is tall and has a really long torso, and I am pretty sure David is long too. His head is engaged already and his butt is still up in my ribs. I am hoping his length is what is making him big and he is a more normal baby boy weight. If not, I have a lot of super cute newborn cloth diapers I won't be able to use. LOL

Royal.Fortress -> RE: EmilyAnn's baby thread! (5/31/2008 5:48:06 PM)

Em - I don't think you're carrying a 10-pounder! I've been gaining and growing consistently and June Bug's engaged, but his/her butt is still up in my ribs - that's normal [:D]

peculiar_lady2 -> RE: EmilyAnn's baby thread! (5/31/2008 7:29:11 PM)

weight has nothing to do with what size they wear....length does more then weight, but even more then that it is just body build. Jake was a whole pound lighter then Jack but Jack wore smaller clothes (and diapers) for longer then Jake did. Jack was however about two inches shorter then Jake...but he hid his weight well...seriously we thought he was about 7.5 lb and turned out to be 9lb!!!!
genetics play a big part too....what size was Chris when he was born? What size were you when you were born?

EmilyAnn -> RE: EmilyAnn's baby thread! (5/31/2008 7:44:46 PM)

I was 5 lbs 13 oz (born at 37 weeks) and Chris was between 7 and 8 pounds and born some time around 40 weeks. (His mom had 5 kids in 5 1/2 years and can't really keep all of that info straight in her head LOL!!) Chris is pretty tall and thin (6'0 and about 150 lbs.) and he has a very long torso.

peculiar_lady2 -> RE: EmilyAnn's baby thread! (5/31/2008 7:56:49 PM)

well, if you add a half a pound a week to your birth weight (cause that's about what they grow in the end)...and go to 40 weeks mark..then you and he would have been about the same weight or so...not bad. It's hard to say on length, and you don't know who's genetics are stronger, but given he is a boy maybe you will have a boy about Chris's size at birth. All of mine have been very much like Paul genetically speaking...but we have two different sets that look alike and were about the same size. Hannah and Jackson are the most like Paul and are very similar genetically speaking. Emma and Jacob are the most alike and are still like Paul but in other ways then the other two. It's weird...lol

EmilyAnn -> RE: EmilyAnn's baby thread! (6/2/2008 12:43:25 PM)

I am 39 weeks today!! It can't be too much longer, right?

Chris' cousin (the super pretty one) had her little boy on May 31. She had a very fast and easy labor (in a hospital with lots of medication.) When I found out she had her baby I cried. She was due a week before me so it makes sense she would have her baby first, but I felt so jealous when I found out. I know it sounds silly but I'm at a point where I am super emotional and crying over everything and hearing about other people having their babies while mine is still content to stay right where he is causes a bit of a breakdown. [:(]

peculiar_lady2 -> RE: EmilyAnn's baby thread! (6/2/2008 12:48:46 PM)

it's ok...he will come in his own timing. He just isn't ready yet to show the world his face!!!! That's really one reason I don't like to see women get too anxious too early...cause I have BTDT with going several weeks "over" the due date, and it really is hard mentally to do that. I find it easiest to pick a date far in the future....like for your date I would pick like the end of this month...and then mentally I can better handle that baby WILL for SURE be here by _____ date. For me this time I have picked July 4th as the date....by then this baby will for sure be here.

Mrs.Wifey -> RE: EmilyAnn's baby thread! (6/2/2008 12:50:50 PM)

No more then 3 weeks, Emily!

I'm doing this now and its months before my baby comes. It just helps me make it more real and seem like there is an end (which is also a beginning).

((hugs)) sorry you are feeling crummy Emily. In a way I know how you feel, MIL made a reference to when SILs baby would be here and I felt just a little jealous and sad, even though I KNOW she is months ahead of me...its just still...[&:]

Hang in there.

Brandy -> RE: EmilyAnn's baby thread! (6/2/2008 2:56:57 PM)

Welcome to my emotional crazy world Emily. I get looked at weird by Jeremy and I start crying like a baby.

M/W said huge influx of hormones as your body gets ready to expel its hostage causes some major mood swings. She also cautioned to watch it and make sure it's not true depression setting in. I am setting up an appt with the Women's Health center to speak with someone just to keep tabs on my emotional and mental health/state for after baby arrives.

lilyofthefield -> RE: EmilyAnn's baby thread! (6/2/2008 3:38:39 PM)

I am so excited for you, Emily! I can't put into words the amazing process of becoming a mother! I am so happy for you... [:)]
