Emily- Hang in there dear- You CAN do this, and the baby WILL come! You are tired and weary and emotional- all normal. Try to rest as best you can, you will be holding your little one soon!!

Thanks for the compliments about the nightgown. I was wearing it yesterday and it was about 30 minutes before we had to leave for a VBS planning meeting. I told Chris I needed to find something to wear (which is a big pain now because nothing fits) and he was like "oh, I thought you were wearing that?" I said "This? It's a nightgown!!" He laughed and said, "Well, I think it's hot!!" It just looks like a nightgown to me. LOL

I ended up getting about 4 hours of sleep, so I feel a little better.

I am having a really hard time knowing that Chris starts his 2nd job again tomorrow. He works at his "real" job from 6:00-3:15. In January (I think it was January) he started working a 2nd job from 4:00-8:00. He was working there until mid-April. Things really slowed down and they let all of their part time people go. They recently called and told him they need him back and asked if he could start Wednesday. We REALLY need the money. With just the 1 job we didn't even have enough for bills, gas, and groceries. We were having to use our tax return money and the little bit we had in savings, which is all gone now. I know he needs to work this 2nd job, but it is so hard to be alone all day. He won't get home until 8:30 at night. He will also be working on Saturdays from 6:00-2:00 until we finish paying for the midwife. When he was working before I was in school part time and I had a car. I went to class and then could go to the grocery store or Wal-mart, or hang out with my sister. Now I don't have a car (we had to go down to 1 car because of gas prices) and I am too miserable to go anywhere anyway. I really miss having him around when he is working so much and he is understandably exhausted when he gets home, so I only get to see him for an hour each day.

Here's a cute turn of phrase for you Emily, and all the other "almost done" moms:

quote:

I may look and feel extremely pregnant, but actually I was far more pregnant at 20 weeks than I am at 37.5 weeks. At 20 weeks, there was hardly a beginning or end in sight. Now the end is very near at hand.

Hence, I am barely pregnant.

Whole post HERE.

So, if David isn't here by Friday my midwife is going to check my cervix and if it is "favorable" she is going to strip my membranes. I really hope David is here in our arms by Father's Day.

So based on your question in Preggy support, does this mean you think you may be going into labour, Emily??

I don't know. I haven't had any contractions, not even BH, in a long time. I don't feel like I'll be having this baby any time soon. I do have a little energy today. I unloaded the dishwasher, did a load of laundry, and my mom is coming over soon to take me to the grocery store. I actually feel "good" today compared to how I have been feeling.

Hmm ... I'd say babe is getting ready to come ... don't use up all your energy in case you need it tonight (but, don't avoid shopping, either ... walking is GOOD!!!)

The grocery store is the best place to go walking around here. It is 2 minutes from my house, I have a cart to lean on if my hip starts to hurt too much, and they keep it nice and cool in there!!

Yup ... 3 definite positives for grocery shopping!!!

BTW, I can't remember ... are you using a midwife or an OB?? If you are with a midwife, you may want to give her a quick call right after shopping to mention the possible leakage.

I am having a home birth with a midwife. I was going to see what happens after I walk around for a while and then give her a call.

Emly get to walkin!! So good to hear you are feeling good today, gotta store up that energy.

I walked sooo much yesterday I'm paying for it big time today for wearing flipflops.

TOnight after Jer is home we are going for a walk in good shoes and I will be walking alot the next few days to try to get stuffs moving.

I'm actually getting ok with today not feeling like much is happening. After 4 days of BH all the time it's a nice rest.

Watch her come tonight.

Walking did it for me though it did take 3 days of walking a lot, but it worked. I walked Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday...by Friday around 3 I started having contractions, but I didn't think it was. By 5 we started timing them and the rest is history.

Well, I spent about an hour at the grocery store. No contractions at all. When my mom and I were putting the groceries away I felt another gush. I ran to the bathroom to pee, but nothing came out. I talked to my midwife and she said it could be the hind waters breaking. I'm not really sure what that means. She told me to let the pad dry and then smell it. So now, I'm waiting.

You have hindwater and forewaters ... the forewaters is the huge sac which surrounds the babe ... the hindwaters are just that ... basically in behind (or beside) the main sac. Some people have their waters leaking for a while before going into 'actual' labour ... and don't worry about there not being enough fluid for the babe (which is what a lot of people think when there is a slow leak) ... the amniotic fluid regenerates constantly ...

Just make sure that you are drinking lots of water to help replace that which is lost. Otherwise you are fine.
