Yes, she told me to take some Vit C and make sure I drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and there is nothing to worry about.

Yes...keep drinking lots of water.

My contractions didn't start up with full intensity when my water broke. I went upstairs to shower before heading to the hospital and I had Joel call the on call nurse at the hospital to let them know we'd be coming in soon. She had a bunch of questions and wanted to know (through him) if I was in any pain and how close the contractions were together. LOL! He had no idea because I wasn't in pain when I headed up to the bathroom. She was pretty annoying from what I gathered when I came downstairs.

When we got to the hospital they were about 10-15 minutes apart still. So just because your water breaks doesn't mean that you're not going to have good contractions eventually. Once I got to walking in the hospital they picked up a good deal.

I talked to my midwife and she said it could be the hind waters breaking. I'm not really sure what that means.

You have hindwater and forewaters ... the forewaters is the huge sac which surrounds the babe ... the hindwaters are just that ... basically in behind (or beside) the main sac. Some people have their waters leaking for a while before going into 'actual' labour ... and don't worry about there not being enough fluid for the babe (which is what a lot of people think when there is a slow leak) ... the amniotic fluid regenerates constantly ...

Or it could be that it broke up high in the bag. I had one of those with my first. Check out the toenails on that baby when he's out! Maybe he clawed through! LOL

Must be nice ... mine breaks and I'm instantly in full contraction mode ... 4-5 mins apart, 1-2 mins each ... my labours don't start until my water breaks, and then OH BOY!!!

I was like that. They were like every 8 minutes. But then my labor went awry once I got to the hospital. I think it was the fear.

I am now 90% sure it is amniotic fluid and not urine.

Maybe the little bugger wants to be born on Friday the 13th just to drive his mama crazy. (I am a bit OCD about numbers. I don't like odd numbers unless they are divisible by 5 LOL!!)

Emily, if you are getting little gushes, those are probably with contractions- my labor with #1 started that way and took 17.5 hours, but was not hard the whole time. I *highly* recommend that you rest up as much as possible, and don't panic if your labor takes off and then slows down- slowing down can mean that your body senses you need rest- get a little, and it will pick back up. I never would have lasted through my labor if it had not stalled out for a few hours- if you don't mind though, can you have the baby before noon tomorrow? We are leaving for vacation and it would be nice to know before we leave

I am glad I am not the only one with a weird number preference. I keep telling myself that the baby's birthdate is not something that I can choose, so I need to calm down and not let it drive me nuts that it could be born on specific dates/number sequences.

It IS divisible by 5! 13 divided by 5 = 2.6!

My water definitely just broke!! Chris got home from work and we were standing in the kitchen and I felt a huge gush!! It soaked the pad I was wearing. I'm still having little gushes. I am not having any contractions that I can feel yet. My midwife told me to drink some water, take a shower if I want to, and go to bed. Please pray that I can get some rest. I am very excited!!

Yeah!!! By tomorrow we can kick Emily off the list .... that'll mean I'm getting even closer to the top!!! (Still not liking the August baby idea, though ... hoping for a last week of July instead ... already have an August and the heat was murder!)
