Sounds like it's all working out great...I'm very happy for you. As always, hard work and prayer always pay off.

TQ_Fan_4_Life -> RE: Group Update (6/12/2008 12:56:30 PM)

oh yeah forgot to add. I may be having a small base to work with but God will drop people in your way to help you along.

an old friend i used to chit chat with years ago online in chatrooms, seems she just added a new radio station to the three she owned(( I did not know this))). it is strictly SG and she said send an album to her and she will have them put it in rotation.[:)] and she said will be advertising it for free on the stations website when i get them put out. God is good.

station is outside St. Louis somewhere.

TQ_Fan_4_Life -> RE: Group Update (6/20/2008 9:01:15 PM)

well folks. it isn't offical yet, but here goes an update

a friend on the boards here introduced me to a tenor singer my age who also plays the bass. he wants the same as me in music ministry, feels the same about dress on stage, about the style I want to play, and his wife can help a lot with managing and business side of a group. can you say God will provide. isn't official but i can pray it all works out.

oh yeah, i forgot. i came into enough money yesterday to pay for the studio and all to get an album out. although am gonna be trying to record 2 and have more than one product out.

PTL Hallelujah

Kerrlaw -> RE: Group Update (6/20/2008 9:03:27 PM)

Congratulations.

Though I'm still trying to wrap my mind around a tenor playing bass.

TQ_Fan_4_Life -> RE: Group Update (6/20/2008 9:07:05 PM)

thanks Mike.

I am wanting a group that plays instruments. that way can have a band and a quartet. am looking for a female piano/keyboard player. can add female harmony and means can add mixed group sound to a Church service. I won't say concert because I want my "concerts to be a Church service.

as for the tenor singer, he is modest but someone else gave me good comments on him. someone I highly value the opinion of

Well you could have a bass playing tenor (saxophone).

armydude -> RE: Group Update (6/20/2008 9:12:00 PM)

I can play the radio... Does that help?

TQ_Fan_4_Life -> RE: Group Update (6/28/2008 10:33:06 PM)

am looking for some ideas. anyone know how to advertise for a lead and baritone or bass and a piano player? pm any suggestions

danielmount -> RE: Group Update (6/29/2008 12:25:50 PM)

You can post an ad on the Jobs section of the Singing News website, I believe.

TQ_Fan_4_Life -> RE: Group Update (6/29/2008 8:54:27 PM)

quick lil update. I am expecting a fone call this week from one of this area's best lead singers. one of the men at Church works with his sister and wanted to make sure I still needed a lead singer before he gave my number out. PTL. if he is hired will have a tenor, lead, bass((( with some dropping of voice been told am a nice mellow bass not the chainsaw growling which to me isnt singing))), also will have a bass player, guitarist, drummer. will need baritone and a piano player.

armydude -> RE: Group Update (6/29/2008 9:32:09 PM)

That is good news bro! I may have made a few good contacts on preaching in the Tennessee area. I tell ya, I'm looking forward to the time that I have so many places wanting me to preach that I have a full schedule.

TQ_Fan_4_Life -> RE: Group Update (7/1/2008 8:01:23 AM)

James, you in this area. book em. my group singing and you preaching. then could mix it up and you come out and look at crowd on a song and me walk out and look at crowd when time to preach.[:D] would be a hoot. least is now thinking about it

DJSfromCleveland -> RE: Group Update: Spiritual Warfare (7/1/2008 8:10:47 AM)

Wow, this is exciting. I can't wait to see the group when it comes out!

TQ_Fan_4_Life -> RE: Group Update: Spiritual Warfare (7/1/2008 8:14:14 AM)

thanks David. is working out slowly but surely.

I forgot to add the ages. the singers so far all all in 30's. bass player is tenor singer so he is in 30's. but the band am putting together is teenagers from my Church. and have a drummer as well. all them aged 14-16

well to give a new update, piano player is almost in my group. guitar player and background vocals is all set in stone. drummer is son of pianon player so is how dop we say, need a baritone and lead and Spiritual Warfare likely will be a go.

If you could find me a place down there, you'd have a baritone.[;)]

Oh yeah... and a job. I'm not gonna try to get by on my looks.[8D]

Ditto. Actually I have sang everything but tenor. But I'm not a great Bass. Hard to stay in Key in the very lowest part of my range.

TQ_Fan_4_Life -> RE: Group Update (7/12/2008 9:41:03 PM)

well, the group is set except for high lead and baritone still. have 4 instruments, 4 people singing. 2 in the quartet, piano player doing female harmony, and guitarist doing male harmony vocals.

have a song written by our own armydude's wife that is a barn burner. one of them slow altar call songs. already told my tenor singer this one is his.
