ORIGINAL: iluvatar Have you factored in fuel and other transportation costs? For an 1100 mile trip, you're probably looking at $400-500 just in fuel, plus however much for tolls - tolls on a truck will be more than they'd be for a car. That's good - I was going to make the same point. Boxes are EXPENSIVE! It's not just UHaul, either - everybody charges lots of money for them. One of those big wardrobe boxes with the metal hanger bar can cost upwards of $15. -Dan. Dan, thanks for dropping by! You know, I did calculate the probable gas bill (looked at the fuel mileage for the truck we're going to get and assumed $3.90/gallon), but I never thought about tolls. I need to ask my Dad how many are between here and there since he's made the trip many times. Thank you! Yeah, we're super blessed to have those boxes being saved for us. quote:
ORIGINAL: jodavi With all the movings going on - I know I posted it already - but for new movers, I once again, suggest to check on this link http://www.justmoved.org/ That web site is awesome! I'm looking forward to digging around in it even more...thank you for that! quote:
ORIGINAL: creationtalk I will probably do the move myself, but that's because I have to move a tractor, 4 horses and associated equipment, assorted pets as well as personal equipment. Okay you all, I'm feeling much better about moving a 3 bedroom house now.[:D]
