Single - I agree with your post 100%!

Except National Treasure I actually liked.

And all the special effects for a movie that takes place in the 50's - just off.

Aliens - too weird for Indiana Jones.

Definitely had some good scenes, but overall, disappointing.

I actually liked it, It was a good entertaining summer movie. As long as I'm enterained, these kinds of movies don't have to be totally logical to me, . Shia was enjoyable and I loved seeing Indy and Marion back.

I wish that they hadn't come out and said that they were Aliens. I think it would have been better if they had simply implied it. I hope that they make a fifth one, in which they find an egyptian artifact. Harrison Ford has said he would like to be in a fifth.

If it takes 'em 20 years to make a fifth one, Ford will be in his 80s...should be fun to see him tooling around in one of those motorized wheelchairs.

There was actually a FoxTrot comic strip about that right when the news came out about a new Indy movie. Indy was using a walker to get away from a huge boulder that was chasing him. FoxTrot had another Indiana Jones strip last weekend also.

I don't think Lucus or Speilberg are part of the Church of Scientology. I do think they dove into thei childhoods and the urban legend stroy that surronded "Area 51." I think they wanted to bring that to life. The rumors and articals they read from that time.

It is a very good film. Go watch it again.

It was a pretty good movie. I loved all the action moments. Shia was, as usual, awesome in his acting. I didn't know he was in the movie though. I had to wait till the credits rolled to be sure it was him. No one interviewed him. All the promo interviews for the movie, that I saw, focused on Harrison Ford and the female co-actor (can't remember her name - Kate(?)). But as far as action was concerned it was AOK.

i thought is was pretty good. i was also a little dissapointed in the alien scene. i dont think that belongs in Indiana Jones, but oh well. there were a few scenes that were kinda 'unrealistic', but it was still a good movie. i also thought that Harrison Ford was a good age, but any older and hed be to old. hes 65. if they do another one they need to get it out in the next 2 or 3 years. b4 he gets too old. i mean, hes 6 years from being as old as John Mcain. and John Mcain looks pretty old. but i thought he looked pretty good for 65. it was a good movie.

Saw it the first weekend it was out, and it was a lot of fun to go to the movies and actually have a crowd there. Our whole family went, and it's rare that there is a movie that all of us want to and can go see together. It was great to be able to do that even if the movie wasn't as great as the first one. It was just a sentimental thang -- for me anyway.

As for the alien aspect of the movie, Spielberg just can't let go of Close Encounters.

On a slightly related note, my kids were freaking out at Karen Allen. But I wish I looked as good as Karen Allen does.

Indeed, thats the best part. Speaking of families at the movies, i miss how when i was a kid the folks would pile us in the back of the pickup and go to the drive in. we had a huge mattress in the bed and we'd throw a big pile of pillows in there and we all wore our pj's, munchin' on popcorn and drinkin' sodas, the adventure of it was better than the movie. On the way home we would lie on our backs watchin the stars go by. Off topic, i just felt like walkin down memory lane.

Oh, I remember doing that. A lot of fond memories. I also heard a lot of movies that I probably shouldn't have when I was a kid. Like Patton. My parents saw that at the drive-in as the second feature. They thought I was already asleep.

I liked the movie because it set itself up for the possible continuation of the family line through the 'greaser' son of Indiana Jones.

That was one thing I didn't like about it.

I saw it yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it. But then I am easily entertained.

What I found disturbing of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was the symbolism. I guess people can interpret it as a nod to past installments, but it made me do a double take. Within the first 10 minutes or so when Indy was escaping the Russians in the warehouse. They crash through a barrier of crates to reveal the Ark of the Covenant. The camera shot focuses on the Ark, but every races off in pursuit of the Metaphysics and Science, or should I say Metaphysical.
