I do not need Bo, to tell me common sense, or others. SUVS the dealers cannot get rid of them. We watch pennies, for food more carefully, because of it is higher because gas prices. I have a mini-van, but just bought a PT Crusier, covertable, wanted a red one for a long time. I use the van when I have too, because, there is five, in my family. Two of my girls have thier own cars though, so, I don't know I am getting irritated, Obama needs to mind his own knitin, and stive to be a good, and Godly man if he is going to lead our country. Money, Money, Money, is that all that matters to him! What about life, which is to precious to ignore, first things first.

You must have missed my statement, "I don't mind any of that." Obama's offense isn't that he uses lots of energy. It's that he uses lots of it and suggests to people who already use less than he does that they need to change. Al Gore is an energy pig. He is not on a presidential campaign yet still flies private jets. He lectures others about the dangers of global warming then uses more energy than almost any other American. A bunch of large homes. Huge electric use. Private jets.

I am mildly annoyed by the fact that Democrats want to mandate energy efficiency- rather than letting the market handle things- but it's much less obnoxious than the micro-management of my life that Republicans propose. But that doesn't mean that Americans don't lead by example. The fact is that we've worked to find sensible ways to reduce our consumption without affecting our lifestyles. That's really all the Democrats are asking for. Gore installed solar cells on his property, and his neighbors complained that they were unsightly. If Gore can do that, don't you think that you can turn your thermostat down from 72 to 68 in the winter? Pay an extra $300 for a car that uses a more efficient gearbox to get better mileage? Install CFLs? Regardless of Al Gore's lavish lifestyle (which is often necessary because of the nature of a politician's job), he's made more modifications to it than you have. Shouldn't he be judged based on how far out of his way he has gone to reduce consumption, rather than his total consumption? And finally, of course, even if Al Gore is a terrible guy, I can point to plenty of conservatives who have declared BK several times who argue for fiscal responsibility. I can point to plenty of conservatives who push for government-enforced morality who've gotten into trouble for various reasons. I don't know why conservatives automatically equate environmentalism and Al Gore (they could just as easily do so with Olympia Snowe (R-Maine)), but I do know that no liberal decided that he should be the spokesman for environmentalism.

I have seen the good things GWB as done, and your right he has done it from his heart, because all anyone ever does is attack him, the right and the left. I love my border collies, they stink I do not pay 100 dollars for them to be groomed I put a muzzle on Rowdy, and pray for safety and bathe him myself. I do the same to Buleah, but she is much more subdued. I did buy a new car, three weeks ago, because my other two have been driven to death. I have, put many town miles on the mini van, taking people around, that have no transportation. We own a nice home, but, this is after many years in the sewer shack, a long story, of four females one male, and one bathroom. I am a bleeding heart conservative, a sucker many times, being used alot, still am according to my husband. I agree if someone buys a three thousand dollar dog collar that is sin. I do not buy what I cannot afford. My clothes and jewelry come aminly from wal-mart. would not buy SUV, I could not afford the gas, or would not want to. Tracy is somewhat right also, people do not help one another in the church as they should. This takes listening to the Holy Spirit, and obdience to what he ask you to do. I won't go into the Republican Congress from 2000 to 2006. Either conservatism is dead or else it was a big lie to take power I'm not convinced of which it is yet.

Who has the right to tell anyone how to spend their money? If we start forcing our opinions on others were will that lead us? Socialism most likely. I think pet ownership is stupid. I saw on Foxnews kids trying to raise money for back surgery for a worthless cat. As dumb as I think that is should we pass a law banning that just because I think it is wrong. Once we get into that mindset who knows what's next. If we let the market instead of govt take care of it then people will have no choice but to cut back on frivilous spending. Americans don't like being told what to do.

Libertarian conservatism has a few flaws (pure laissez-faire Capitalism doesn't address monopolies, negative externalities, and environmental issues that threaten the sustainability of long-term Capitalism), but overall, it's more responsible than anything that modern liberalism or neoconservatism have to offer. However, I am now convinced that politics has mostly turned into a football match, and I've found myself wearing a blue jersey, so unless I am presented with a clearly superior Republican candidate, I will likely continue voting Demcoratic.
