Do you think Christians, at least here in America, don't fare any better in trials and afflictions any better than anybody else? would ou agree with that? why or why not? Please share some examples if you don't mind.

Yes we fare better because of the hope that is Christ Jesus and the promise of God towards us that whomever believes on Him will not perish but have eternal life in heaven with Him.

It is hard enough to endure with faith sometimes but to endure this world without faith is hopeless. Literally hopeless.

I mean it hardly makes any sense at all unless you believe that God is in charge and has a plan for us. Sin came into the world by one man's unbelief and God in his justice and mercy delievered us from the wages of sin and death by the sacrifical death of one devine sinlessman,, Jesus...

I disagree with 1love1God1way. Unless you've been through some really tough things in your life you don't understand what people are going through plain and simple. To judge as you just have is cold and heartless.


Do you suppose that I have not gone through some really tough things?

I think people act differently in church than they do in public.

I think so too. there's pressure upon you to wear a mask and act happy and like a goody two shoes. church for the most part isn't as stressful as out in the world. (which is a good thing) The stress of life that we encounter out in the world, i.e. financial problems, having a bad day at work, or even just someone cutting you off in traffic, can cause a good church going person to act in ways totally unbecoming of a Christian.


I disagree. Lots of people are true in their walk. And they walk the walk.

Hard to believe I know lol but it does exist.

In most churches only ten percent are involved in ministries. In some churches you are lucky to get that.

I read somewhere ( maybe Reader's Digest) that there was a test done.
They compared the rate of recovery of patients who prayed to those who did NOT.
Those who prayed healed faster & were more possitive & felt better than those who did NOT.

Well, I try to avoid 'angry, complain, have a bad attitude, etc. in trying times' folks, Christian or not. I can cry with those hurting and rejoice in one's victories but I have trouble empathizing with whiners.

A person can initially take it in stride in trying times but then have a bad attitude later especially if things don't get better. Just read the book of Job. In there you will find stuff about him that wasn't really discussed in Sunday School. Job actually did get frustrated, he actually complained pretty bitterly later on. Job wasn't always patient and pious like so many Christians portray him to have been.

Wow! Here is a great question that can lead into some really DEEP issues .....

To answer the question - YES! - as Christians we do fare better than non-Christains!!! What does a non-believer have to hope or trust in? How can they experience that perfect peace that only God can bring in the midst of trials???

One thing to consider: non-Christians don't get some of the same trials as Christians. Do they experience persecution for their faith in Christ? For the reproach of His name?

I would say the LORD takes very good care of me…always has and I know He always will. I love Him with all my heart and I’ve totally committed my life to him and I trust in Him to provide for my welfare. I’m not rich but I’m not broke…I don’t have everything but I sure have all that I need.

Do I have trials in my life…you bet but they are not more than I can handle and even in the worst of times I have peace of mind, knowing full well that things will work out according to God’s will and that’s what I desire…God’s will in my life.

Life without God or not walking in the will of God can be hell on earth. Man can have everything but without peace of mind and trust in the LORD you have nothing.

A true Christian trusting in the LORD and walking in His will cannot even be compared to a person without Christ We may not be richer but we certainly have a better quality of life.

I experienced the death of one brother without a relationship with Christ ... unbelievably hopeless ... the best way to describe it was absolute darkness and despair. It wasn't until after I met Christ that I was able to come out of the darkness of that experience.

I lost a brother and my dad within 3 days of each other from unexpected illnesses with a relationship with Christ ... and in the "Valley of Anchor (Trouble) He provided a door of hope." (Hosea 2:15)

Without question there is no comparison ... with Christ I always have hope ... and He brings a supernatural peace and joy that trancsends all human understanding.
