ORIGINAL: doinkdom It was 2 hours one night 4 hours the next? is that right? 2 hours each night. Online listings seem to be very confused about times because there isn't any/enough distinction between the two parts. I thought it was rather blah, and didn't seem very self-consistent. They've got a super-hi-tech underground research lab with computerized specimen handling that can harvest tissue from a lab animal and then prep, stain, etc microscope slides from that just by voice command, but that same lab... *MINIOR SPOILER WARNING* That same lab has an alert system that triggers seizures and has a critical self-destruct override that be shattered by an easily overturned, and precariously near, computer table? WHAT?!!! Are you serious? The military, which specifies how many pieces the ash trays in a bomber jet are supposed to crack into, didn't bother to put a simple protective cover on emergency controls? And, on top of that, they put computer equipment on an unstable platform within arms length of those controls? *END SPOILERS* I'll skip over all the implausible "science" employed throughout the entire show. But it was pretty bad. I can deal with pseudo-science, if it shows signs of playing by it's own rules. But it's not really Science Fiction, if it doesn't at least try and come up with some sort of internally consistent logic, which this version of the Andromeda Strain doesn't. There are too many times when it doesn't deal with the ramifications of it's own premises.
