Well, depending on what we find out from sources, it's possible I might not make it to the GT myself.

It seems that it is much farther from where my daughter is than we were told at first (no one's fault...we should have checked it out). Twice as far. I don't mind the drive, I do two hours at a time with no sweat, so three won't phase me. But I'll have to borrow my dd's car, which will put her on her feet for the weekend. It's a small car with over 140,000 miles on it...it's working fine now, but that could change at any moment. I'll have to drive in very unfamiliar territory. Very.

Sometimes I get so tired of having to be a big girl.

When it comes to traveling on my own, I AM NOT a big girl[:(]. Well, flying is fine but I've never done road trips by myself.

dd says it looks like a 3 hour drive.

I didn't mention it will also be MUCH more expensive due to gas prices...[&o]

Bonjour Peeps!

I'm coming down off the high of the GT. Today's Chanson du jour is in honor of the fun we had. Yeah, I know it's kinda sad, and of course wedding rings are not really the point, but I really did hate to go, and I know a lot of the rest of you probably feel that way too...

As I stated in the chat thread, meeting these marvelous people IRL, in 3D stereo, is an amazingly enriching and in many cases hysterically funny experience. I thought perhaps that some of you who didn't go might enjoy asking questions about the posters who were there...maybe I can help you fill out your perceptions of them.

All in the most positive light, of course.[8D]

I'll start with just a little bit of info that might help spark the discussion:

Pam sounds taller to me online than she is IRL. That's in the quote thread! She reminds me of my Aunt Evelyn, who is very special to me.

Tinkerbell and I agree that we are more alike than either of us could have imagined. I know, it's strange, but true. In my defense, I will admit that I was definitely in Tigger mode during the GT!

Accessing LabGuy's strength and humor IRL is harder than online.

Humble in Spirit really is. Except in Boston crosswalks.[;)] But it's ok, it's a survival technique.

KuKu certainly is. But she's also a very fun and deeply compassionate person.

Gary is a lot more fun and friendly than comes across on the forums. And he's a great navigator.

All the good things you thought about John_O online: double that. Or maybe triple it. I had a similar reaction to Lisa: she's who she is here, only moreso. Her personality intensifies the whole room.

Whatever you do, do not let ShemaRomans sauciness online fool you: she's quite a woman to deal with (teaching 4th graders will do that to you) but she's also incredibly sweet.

JustJeannie is soooo darn cute. We all envy her hair...but none of us have the face and physique to carry it off as well as she does!

so...what do you want to know, peeps? I'll try to answer...

ShallbeRebuilt -> RE: Besiderself's Batty Belfry (6/9/2008 9:34:25 AM)

Jeannie;

I had the most awesome thought during church yesterday: it made me cry. We may have to be apart for now but...

I GET TO SPEND ETERNITY WITH YOU PEOPLE!!!

You make this sound like a bad thing. [;)] Although I have to say I was pretty shocked.

I really liked when Mike told me in the airport that I was more down to earth than he expected. He thought I would be bouncing all over the pleace or something like that. [8D]

kj88il -> RE: Besiderself's Batty Belfry (6/10/2008 9:25:28 AM)

good morning, esther.

i loved reading your little 'cliff notes' on everyone at the GT. maybe you can clarify for me...in the group pic that's been posted...who is in the green sweater set (top row)...and who is in the red dress (front row)?

i hope you're enjoying your visit at your dd's. ((esther))

Tinkerbell_ -> RE: Besiderself's Batty Belfry (6/10/2008 9:30:56 AM)

Shema is in the green sweater, and Jeannie is in the red dress. [:D]

I know I'm not Esther but I figured I could help you out there. [;)]

FunBetty -> RE: Besiderself's Batty Belfry (6/10/2008 10:07:49 AM)

Does anyone want any coffee? I made a pot of coffee and there's no one around to drink it.... it's chocolate truffle flavored...
