My preference is for a taller guy, and at 6 feet tall that isn't the easiest thing to find. I have gone out with shorter men before, but to be honest, it makes me feel awkward to tower over my date. So I prefer men the same height or taller than me (or maybe just a little shorter). It may sound shallow to some, but it's one of those things that's hard to understand unless you've spent your whole life taller than everyone else.

As a side note, in my line of work I meet a lot of new people, and it seems that my height is often something they ask about. I can't tell you how many men around 5'9" or so will tell me that they are 6', and that I must be at least 6'3"! [:D] It bothered me at first, but I get a chuckle out of it now.

No, No, and no! That is one of my issues, God is working on me. I know good things (smile) can come in a small package. Anyway I prefer '5'7 to 6'0 no shorter or taller. I truely feel that God will not give me a short man or a man over 6'1. I truely believe God will give me the desires of my heart (future husband[sm=sparklecrown.gif]) as of today, it is not in a short package.[sm=icon_smile_super.gif]. Now tomorrow... Oh, and I am 5'4.

I'm 5'1"so it would be hard for me to find a man who is shorter than me. That said, I prefer someone over 5'10". The last guy I dated was 5'8" but he was probably the shortest man I ever dated.

i'd prefer if my dude was taller than me, but when it comes right down too it, i don't think i'd really care either way.

I prefer my man to be taller than me too. I want to feel like he can protect me if the need arises. My hubby is 6'2" and about 290lbs. He is a big teddy bear.

My boyfriend from HS was shorter than me he was 4'9" and I was almost 5'2", but what made him look even shorter was he was in a wheelchair but everyone else i have dated was taller it is hard to find a guy shorter than me unless they are still in HS or younger (my almost 6th grader is almost as tall as me) and i don't want jail bait. My ex-hubby was 5'9" ( I think but some of his family is over 6').

Why did I write this in past tense we are all still kicking. Oh well y'all know what I mean.

I don't think it really matters in the end to me, but it does feel weird to be taller than a guy--- my ex was a bit shorter than me. I like being shorter and able to fit neatly under his arm.[&:]

It's been a long time since I was single, but I was a very tall girl all my life-- sticking out like a sore thumb. When I finally settled at 5'10", I really didn't date anyone shorter than me-- felt awkward. My DH is 6' and I wore flats for my wedding so that the pictures would look "right". Gimme a break, though, I was 20yo.

I'm only 4' 11'' so it is highly unlikely that I'd find someone shorter than me. But if I were taller, I wouldn't mind. I am a firm believer in looking inside of the person. Plus, I tend to find a wide variety of people attractive. I've not really been able to pin down a specific type - most of what I find attractive is internal.

I'm attracted to taller guys - as a girl I want to feel 'smaller' than who I'm with, makes me feel more attractive. But if the man God has for me is shorter than me, I wouldn't tell God no thank you!

I've never been attracted to guys shorter than me (which is a problem, since I'm 6'!) until I met my now-fiance, who's a full inch shorter than me. *shrugs* I guess I'll be wearing flats at our wedding, LOL.

I am not into dating, but I'll ignore that part of it for this question. I am not the kind of person who really cares about that sort of thing. If I did date, I would go out with someone shorter than me, it's what's inside that counts. I'd actually prefer it if my guy was on the shorter side, I tend to get rather nervous around particularly tall or big guys.

I'm just under 5'4" and hubby is only 5'7". In all honesty I prefer 5"10 - 6'. I wish hubby was a little taller but he's such a great guy that it really doesn't matter. He's the shortest guy I ever dated.

I don't have many physical requirements for a man except that height and weight be proportionate. I think to place requirements on people like that is to miss out on getting to know a lot of fantastic people.

I suppose I would date a man shorter than me, though that would be hard to find since I myself am only 5'3". My former boss is probably the only man I have met who was definitely shorter than me.

well, i am 5'2. So, i wouldn't date a guy shorter than me. I have always been attracted to large (well-built) men that are 5'10 or taller. The only person I ever dated was my husband, and he is exactly meets my preferences. 6ft and well built. [:D] Everyone is different, and prefers different heights, weights etc. [:)]

In the past, I dated a man who was 3 inches shorter than I was. (I am 5'8")

My wonderful DH is 1 inch taller than me, but 1 year younger, too. I think we're a nice match.

I went on a blind date about a year ago, when I was 18. The guy was shorter than me. I'm 5'4" as it is.

It was a big turn off for me...but he had a horrible personality which turned me off even more. I mean, if the guy had a great personality, I wouldn't care about the height. But he didn't, so lets just say we never saw each other again! :p
