I'm just hanging around today. DH has an eye doctor appt. this afternoon and I'm going to go photograph some items at the church that we're selling.

Other than that, I think I'll fold laundry and do a few dishes. Not sure what else the day holds...only time will tell.

Have a great day everyone!

Beth, I'm glad to hear you've made the transition of times relatively quickly. I pray I am able to do the same...we're moving 2 hours ahead. It was easy to move 2 hours behind. Guess we'll see how this goes...

Jennifer- I am still just in the looking/dreaming stage If money wasn't an issue...this is what I would like to get I am going up Sunday night to look at the house so I will have a better idea after that what I will have space for and what all I really need to get. Pictures are helpful, but not the same as actually looking at it.

"faith" - I am assuming that you are driving when you move?? That should help with the transition - especially if you stop in MST for a night. Then you will adjust an hour at a time.

I got my presentation done!! I will play around and see if I can get it put up somewhere on-line. It is designed so that I speak while showing the pictures, so there isn't much for captions, though most things are pretty self-explanatory. I will post the link if I get it working.

Yeah, we're driving and will most likely stop SOMEWHERE in the middle....haven't quite mapped that one out yet.

Yay for your presentation being done!! Can't wait to see it

Stacy, that stinks! Literally

Beth, you are nuts! Nuts I tells ya! Ok fine... you are awesome for being able to get back into the swing of things so easily. P.S I am jealous you are on a farm now. Can I come?

Hey Jennifer! Have fun cleaning. By the way, your avatar is too cute. I had a dream last night that I was driving in the country with my family and spotted a monkey that looked like that. We pulled over and I let him come in the car and sit on my lap. A farmer came running to our car yelling at us saying we stole his pet monkey. As he was coming to the car the monkey hid under a blanket shaking so I lied to the farmer saying he went another way becaue I figured he was being abused by this man. The monkey was very happy I let him hide. All that from just seeing your avatar.

Faith, have a good day! I have an eye appt too. He just wants to see how my new contacts are adjusting. I would rather not go.

Maybe I should just cancel my appt then... They feel fine and I want to order them online since it is cheaper. He wanted me to get these kinds so my eyes can breathe more and well... they don't get dry anymore so is there any point in me going now?

The ones I have now are for 2 weeks. Today is my 2 week mark. Lorne says that he used to wear his 2 week ones for up to a month because he didn't wear them all the time. I should be able to do that too hey?

I cancelled my appt for tonight. I talked to my mom and she said that they just ask how they feel and then get you to order some just like you said giggles. I found them for cheaper online so I am going to order mine online. Even with paying the shipping fees I will be saving over $20!

Yay! Now I don't have to drive all the way to annoying Walmart. Now we can just eat supper and go for a walk which is much more fun.

Beth, I like to window shop for all the stuff that one day may go in my own house lol
Once you get to see house you will have better idea of how you want to do things and what you will need.

Tamara, I know how ya feel...it seems like everyone I went to school with is Pregnant and not married or is married or is in the military...

LOL nicole! that is a funny dream
mine was rather weird...it was about getting married...and i was like wait we never planned anything, im wearing black...and it just seemed weird...because it was just and regular church service then they told me I was getting married... it was really weird...lol

My mom would wear her contacts longer then she should sometimes too...and she usually orders hers online or by phone

I didnt really get my room cleaned :/ my sister had a friend over and so I was distracted... I know its not an excuse...I just feel eh lazy today.

What site do you plan to order from? I order from visiondirect.com which is the cheapest I have found. They also send out coupon emails all the time with 10 or 15% off. Not sure if they ship to Canada though.

You're not supposed to, but you can. But you need to take them out and change them the second they start bothering you. I wouldnt sleep in them though.

I've had one eye infection from wearing them too long so you don't want one. But other than that contacts are great.

I will wear them for 2 weeks then. The last thing I want is an eye infection. I don't think it is a good idea to sleep in contacts. My eye doctor said I could wear them for 6 days straight if I wanted to. I asked him why he would tell me I could do that right after he told me that I should give my eyes more of a break and try to wear glasses more (which I already do... the only reason my eyes are dry at all is because of the city we live in). I can see in 10 years all these people with messed up eyes because they wore their contacts for up to 30 days without taking them out (the eye doctor told Lorne he could wear them that long).

well it depends on which brand you have. Some you can wear longer but a lot of times wearing them that long will dry your eyes out.

Oh I had problems with the Acuvue Advanced so I went back to the Acuvue 2. The oasys and advanced are made out of a different material than the acuvue 2s.

I wear a set of contacts until they start to bother me, then throw them away. Technically I'm supposed to be able to wear mine 24/7 for 30 days straight, but I take them out at night so they last longer. The longest I've ever gone was at least 8 weeks, and I had NO problems. I just got the reorder reminder from the last set I ordered and I still have 3 pairs left. I've worn contacts since I was about 12, including 7 years with non-disposables and never had a problem with them.
Does anyone else use >>this<< stuff to clean their lenses? Its a different sort of case that you put your lenses in, then fill it with their solution and leave overnight. It removes the protein deposits and such that get on your lenses, and it works great. I usually do it 1 night/week (generally Sunday night), and I think its part of the reason my lenses are comfortable for so long. I get mine at the grocery store, so I'm pretty sure its available everywhere.

Beth- have you had any culture shock since getting back? I know when I got back from Denmark, nothing tasted right, and I could hardly eat.

Stacy, I use that solution. I just have another kind to use if I need to take a contact out to rinse or wash it. That solution works really great! I always fill it up to the line, but it still overflows sometimes which is annoying. It just bubbles away which is really neat.

I wore yearly contacts for 11 years... I've been wearing contacts since I was 14 and never had any problems with them. Lorne doesn't like contacts. He has tried too many that he just doesn't like. Once he was driving and his one contact just dried up and popped out of his eye. He had to pull over so I could drive.

No

I used to use bausch and laumb, but now I switched to this cleaner because my eyes were a little dry (due to the wrong kind of contacts and allergies)

And its not a special case, just a regular contact lens case.

They are now recommending to throw the cases out every 1-3 months to prevent infections.

You can buy the bigger bottles at Costco for a good price. My eyes were getting blurry before the end of the day so I switched solutions.

Stacy I use that Clear Care and love it. HUGE difference for me and keeping my contacts cleaner/wetter longer.

I also put a drop of this on the contact before putting it in. Also made a huge difference for my eyes which tend to be drier than most.

I think I'll start a thread in Television about this, but I thought I'd give it a shot. I'm looking for the name of an old Christian science show from the 1940's/1950's (from the way it looked), but I can't think of the name of any. I don't think I ever knew the name of this one, but I don't really know where to look to find the name of ANY Christian science shows from back then.

Brandy- the rewetting drops look interesting. I was shocked when I switched from non-disposable to disposable contacts how much more comfortable they were out here in the sand.

I bought some rewetting drops too. It helps if they start to get blurry or uncomfortable. Never thought about putting them in that way though.
