Roberta, you wanna come and do our dishes? [;)][8D][:)]

RepentanceIsRequired -> RE: June Bugs ... Women's Chat Thread (6/6/2008 1:51:52 PM)

Just making a quick jump in to say hello. I've started a new job this week. The job is good but leaving Mary was and is rotten. I haven't read everything so I hope all is well.

That's awesome Roberta ... my addy is ........................................... LOL!!! You're welcome to come and clean my kitchen anytime!!! I can scour it three times and day and it'll STILL look disastrous because of hurricane hubby and tornado toddlers!

LOL!

That sounds like our house. There are seven people living here and someone is always eating!

Karaboo2 -> RE: June Bugs ... Women's Chat Thread (6/6/2008 2:00:45 PM)

Yup ... as of August we will have 7 people in the house ... and 5 animals as well ... I'm getting more grey hairs just thinking about it ... Where's my hair dye??? LOL

Yeah -- UPS man just arrived ... my PC products are here!!!

Roberta_ -> RE: June Bugs ... Women's Chat Thread (6/6/2008 2:03:57 PM)

UPS man has been to my house three times this week. It's been the same driver all week, which is unusual. He's so cool, I met him when I worked in a UPS store. He used to show me pics of his wife and kids. They are a nice looking family!

solo_soprano22 -> RE: June Bugs ... Women's Chat Thread (6/6/2008 2:07:26 PM)

I was about to make a thread about this in college/career, but it's not a good idea. I know some women in here have either been to grad school or are going/have applied, so I figured I'd give it a go.

I'm writing a rough draft of my personal statement for the application. I hear that a story would be good, but my "story" (that got me into one of my research areas) is a little odd and personal. The personal part I don't really care about... after you're in biology and medicine that personal stuff goes out the window. The odd part is what has me wondering. I'm sure they'll find it amusing and interesting (I was around ten years old), but I'm not sure how they'll take it. I'm debating whether or not to put it. [8|] I haven't started typing yet.. just listing points to make within the statement.

Hello hello Nicole! I am glad you have a good job and I wish you all the best. I will pray that you can cope with leaving Mary. Is it part or full time work? Did you work before you had Mary?

Do I get to cook for you too? [sm=angelhalo.gif]
Do I get free airfare and a tour? [:D]

Nicole_Michelle -> RE: June Bugs ... Women's Chat Thread (6/6/2008 2:17:40 PM)

Kara, What animals do you have? Yay for PC products!!! What did you order???

Karaboo2 -> RE: June Bugs ... Women's Chat Thread (6/6/2008 2:23:17 PM)

hmm ... until August, the household list is as such: 4 kids, 3 cats, 2 dogs, 1 hubby ... not sure which category makes the biggest mess!!! Sometime around August 15 it will read 5 kids instead of 4 ... [:D]

I had to replace my classic batter bowl (dumb cats) ... and then I got a second bar pan, some more prep bowls, a few seasonings, and I can't remember what else (I guess I need to look at my list). I'm actually a PC consultant, but stopped doing the shows during my pregnancy because my 'all-day' sickness was too awful ... didn't want to be making the Jerk Chicken Nachos or something like that and end up 'seasoning' the food with the contents of my stomach. My midwife said she wanted a new bar pan as well, and ended up giving me a $140 order! (I needed $300 to reactivate, so what I couldn't generate in outside orders I put in myself) ... I still don't like the fact that a qualifying show in the US is $150, but here it is $200!

Nicole_Michelle -> RE: June Bugs ... Women's Chat Thread (6/6/2008 2:29:03 PM)

You are so blessed! [:)] What breed of dogs do you have? Sounds like fun getting all that stuff! Too bad about the all day sickness though. [&:] Are you still getting sick like that?

Karaboo2 -> RE: June Bugs ... Women's Chat Thread (6/6/2008 2:33:03 PM)

Fortunately, no ... the horrendous sickness has subsided (although this heat is causing a bit of the general queasiness to return ... [:'(]) With my first 3, the morning sickness lasted until I delivered ... I lost between 20-40+ each pregnancy.

As for the dogs, we have a 10yo black lab/greyhound cross (runt of the litter ... half the size of the others, but twice as spunky), and a 9yo purebred harrier (which I describe as an overgrown beagle on steroids)

crimsonfollower -> RE: June Bugs ... Women's Chat Thread (6/6/2008 4:26:44 PM)

I just read the last several posts- sounds like everybody is doing pretty good [:D]

So I made it through the past couple of days. I am in a denial/surreal mood at the moment which means I haven't cried in the past 24 hours which in many ways is not good. I have been saying goodbye to people for the past 24 hours and have done little more than shed a few tears. I am sure it will catch up to me here soon and then the dam will break and I will cry without stopping for a while. The mess in my room confirms the fact that I am moving in a little over a week, but... my brain/heart at the moment is ignoring the fact. Actually, my heart is very aware- I gave my kids hugs and then hugged them again and then they came and tackled me to give me more hugs during the last hour of school. My heart knew that I was saying goodbye for the last time to many of them... but my tears seem to be ignoring the fact. I know it isn't a big deal if I don't cry ( I am normally not a crier anyway) but my sinus headache would enjoy the release of tears I think.

Youth Group tonight- this will be my last one [:(] The last one was suppose to have been 2 weeks ago, but earlier this week, the leaders decided enough kids would still be around that we could do it one more time. So more goodbyes tonight. I need to work on my to-do list for the next week so that everything gets done (like one of the little things is that I have to have all of my belongings into suitcases before Wednesday when my admin comes around to sign off on my house). Why don't they tell you that moving is so much work???? [:'(]

Roberta_ -> RE: June Bugs ... Women's Chat Thread (6/6/2008 5:27:29 PM)

WHOOHOOO!!! I can go shopping for SS tonight! I was (am still) worried about my child support check that is a week late. I called the number for my unemployment Visa debit to find out why/if there was any money there. I was getting bummed because I hadn't heard anything about it via mail, phone, etc. They made a deposit a few days ago. I have money that I didn't know about!

I think I'm going to switch it to direct deposit so that it's easier for me to keep track.

zoebob -> RE: June Bugs ... Women's Chat Thread (6/6/2008 5:37:18 PM)

Robeta, does he have to send the support directly to you? Here in PA they automatically garnish their paycheck. It goes to the domestic relations/child support office and then gets put on a debit card for me. Because it's garnished it happens automatically. The only time it's not is if they switch jobs or something and then they are responsible to send it in themself and it only takes a few days longer. Plus, then the department knows if it's getting paid.

Roberta_ -> RE: June Bugs ... Women's Chat Thread (6/6/2008 5:57:02 PM)

I don't have them garnishing his check. I could, but I'd get less money and have to deal with a hassle from him. I'd get about $75/mo less than what he pays. If I did that he'd get revenge by not paying the $7000 worth of medical bills that are in my name and occured during our marriage. They were in my name because I carried the insurance, but they are for the whole family. Not worth the trade-off. KWIM?

zoebob -> RE: June Bugs ... Women's Chat Thread (6/6/2008 6:00:54 PM)

I kwym. Why would you get less? Is there a service charge? I know there is a small one on my support but he pays that in addition. Or is it because he is voluntarily paying more than he has to?

daughter_of_faith -> RE: June Bugs ... Women's Chat Thread (6/6/2008 7:20:32 PM)

Wow, ladies...such busy crazy lives we all have. LOL. I've read, but I don't even know where to begin responding!!!

I will say that I hear you on the child support thing. It can be a royal pain...especially when one's bio father likes to switch jobs about as often as he changes undergarments. Since I've been re-married, I haven't pursued it because he's supposed to be paying it anyways. (He doesn't and won't unless it is garnished though. An order for garnishment usually goes through state people that ask way too many questions for their own good.) It would be nice to have more money for our move though.

Yes, my house is always a tremendous mess...so it seems. One grown man who makes messes along with a 5 year old who is my daily destroyer just makes an ongoing process. It never stays clean longer than 5 minutes...if that.

I'm wiped...so tired. Didn't really do a lot today, though. It isn't a workout day. I just helped a little one with his schoolwork, then took him to the end of year party at his preschool. Oh, we went grocery shopping after that. Now I am home...it's 4:22 PM and I'm ready for bed! I won't crawl in it for another 4 hours or so though because if I do I will be awake WAY too early.

Beth, when you get through packing your room, you can come help me pack my house. [:D]

And Roberta can help come clean and wash dishes. You are a good cook, right? [8D] What's your specialty? [:)]

At least you have an excuse...our kitchen always looks like a tornado, and there are only 2 of us here! I blame the cats...

Beth- the couch to 5K link is here. Its free- no book required. [:)]

Well hubby's cough came back and he's still not feeling well today. Looks like we'll be missing small group again. My aunt offered to let me borrow one of her sewing machines while she's gone (she's the opposite of a snowbird), since mine is being ornery. She also gave me a stack of fabric and a pattern for a quilt! I've done the cutting and am looking forward to getting started.

Aargh .. the cats are the reason I just had to replace one of my Pampered Chef pieces ... they decided to attack my large batter bowl which was sitting on the counter!!!

He's only required to pay $584/mo. and he voluntarily pays $650/mo.

I know that you don't want to hear this since you're a postie, but our mail service has been lousy lately.

A bittersweet example is what happened to my sister today. She had a baby boy she placed for adoption at birth. At his parents request, she has not seen him since he was 10 years old. He and his family live less than two hours away. His mom sent sis an invitation to his high school graduation, which was yesterday. Sis got the invitation today. The post mark was May 24, 2008. The good news is that she called his mom as soon as she got it and they made arrangements to get together in a few weeks.
