That would be hard. You have to sample things to be sure they're just right. I'm afraid I'd keep sampling and not count it as eating.

I put several different exercise videos in my Netflix queue. I figure that's a good way to try before you buy. Thirty day shred and some of the biggest looser ones look interesting, but I'm afraid they'll be way beyond my ability.

But on the other hand you are on your feet all day and moving.

Good idea to rent the videos first!

Not to start with, but definitely on the expanded menu!

I think you should have a smaller portion part of the menu called, "Savor the Flavor," smaller portions, but just as much flavor to use.

How do you like Turbo Jam? Is it fun? Challenging? Effective?

I like it. I'm only on the first couple of videos, they are quite tough for me to move on too quickly. I'm super un-coordinated!

It's very fun, and yes, challenging, and not sure on the effectiveness yet, it seems like it would work, I can always feel it the next day in my muscles. I wouldn't have spent the money on it, but my neighbour bought it and she lent me some of the dvd's that she's not using at the moment. I like the Learn & Burn and today I did the Ab Jam and am really feeling it tonight, and I'm sure tomorrow!

Has anyone else seen and is insulted by the Lipozene commercials?

I'm not insulted by it, but I think expecting a simple solution like a pill is nutty.

Did you think they are insulting our intelligence, just like all other weight loss pills? Or are you offended by them saying fat is unattractive?

I'm insulted that I've worked so hard to lose weight and here they are saying, "Don't change anything, continue eating junk and not exercising, we'll help you lose weight."

It's aggravating.

It's another example of a pill fixing an problem that has a different root cause. it's a band-aid, not a solution.

I spent years looking for a magic pill. I'd ask people who lost weight to tell me their secrets, and every one of them told me, "I changed my diet and started to exercise." I can't tell you how much I hated hearing that. Now I wouldn't take a pill if someone offered it to me. I want to be healthy, not just a skinny, out of shape, flabby person.

I met a goal today. Hubby and I went for a 40 minute brisk walk and I could keep up with him, even told him to pick up the pace once or twice. Six weeks ago I was huffing and puffing and he had to slow down or leave me behind. He's a little over 6' and I'm 5'1" so I have to walk faster just to match his speed. The Leslie Sansone dvds may not seem like much, but they've sure helped me get in shape.

My goals for tonight are to walk up and down the stairs for 5 minutes and stay out of the highly addictive Deerfield Farms Trail Mix from Walgreens, especially the Chocolate/Nuts and Glacier Mountain kinds. Tomorrow is weigh-in day for me, so if I do have a snack tonight, it'll be a small, low carb one.

I just checked the Biggest Loser website and found out that the new season starts Tuesday September 16th at 8 pm EDT! I can hardly wait to see it because I get so motivated to stay on my plan when it's on. In fact, I'm more likely to do my strength training exercises while watching it, rather than just sitting there eating junk food, which defeats the purpose. Bob & Jillian from Biggest Loser will also be on the premiere episode of Deal or No Deal on August 25th.

I know this is slightly off topic, but I was so excited, I couldn't hold it in any longer!

Down three more pounds this week! I start Phase Two of South Beach today. I picked up some pears at the grocery store this morning and am looking forward to one later this afternoon.

VICTORY!!! Went to MIL's yesterday for dinner. Picked all the skin and fried stuff off my chicken, didn't eat potato salad aaaannnndddd DID NOT EAT BOSTON CREME PIE!!! Today, staff lunch- had shrimp cocktail and salad with olive oil and vinegar dressing. DID NOT EAT gumbo with rice, pasta salad or lemon bars.

That's awesome Kat, I'm glad you're doing so well!

I really need prayer. I'm having a really hard time with food. I just LOVE food.
I've been doing quite well at getting my workouts in, but still can't really get ahold of myself on the food stuff.

I started back on my low carb diet again. It will take a few days for me not to feel like I am starving. :)

I am going running tonight too. I did not go last week because I was so tired. But I can't use that as an excuse, since I am not as tired when I do something.

Good for you, Kat!

Yolanda, I'm finding that I don't have the willpower to starve myself, but I can still lose weight if I make good choices. High fiber foods, lean proteins, veggies and fruits will fill me up and fuel my body. Junk food only offers a temporary fix and leaves me feeling worse an hour or two later.

I've noticed the feeling worse feeling after eating junk food more regularly as well. Tonight it hasn't hit me...not sure why. We ordered pizza...first time in forever!

I didn't get my work out in this morning as I had a hard time just getting out of bed. It's harder than I thought staying on track. *sigh*

Yeah, it is so easy to not exercise. I am in that slump right now. It is horrible because it only takes one or two days, then you feel out of shape. :(
