This will be fun! I'll answer the questions and then tell the story of my crazy 6 year journey...so bear with me... quote:
ORIGINAL: paulsbride What is your ultimate goal for your body? Ultimately - this. Or this. That's the same person - and it's not me! She's a neat lady who's posted a lot of advice and articles on a couple sites I like. I'm currently doing one of her workout programs. quote:
Do you have a plan to get there, or are you looking for one? Like I said, I'm doing this workout program and carb cycling. I'm fluctuating between 1300-1700 calories with 188g proten, 32g fat, and 65g-165g carbs/day. I could give the gory details if anyone is interested. I'm also a big nerd who makes charts and lists. quote:
Do you have a time line you're working in to be 'in shape' by? We host an annual 4th of July party. My dh is working with a big bodybuilder friend of his to get ready for this party. So I'm working my booty off with that date in mind myself. I really need to lose another inch or two at my belly. If/when I can do that, everything else falls into place so that's my focus. I rarely weigh myself. quote:
If you aren't able to start working out now (pregnant mommas!! [:D]) when do you intend to start reaching your goal? Been there, done that. I wasn't real fitness minded when I was pregnant though - I just got FAT. My reality check was when ds was about a year old. quote:
Do you have mini-goals set up along the way for yourself? Just 4th of July. ...I've been at this a while and I've taken it in baby steps. I hated working out. Never was much of an issue for me until I had two kids 15 months apart and got up to about 160 (I'm short and small boned; most of the women in my family are about 95lbs.). My friend dragged me to the gym and I got hooked! It was my only social outlet being home with a toddler and a baby at the time. But I was still a piggy piggy. Finally went on WW and did great! I lost about 30 pounds but learned how to eat 19 pts/day and it all be junk food. I got stuck. I was thinner but not much healthier. I finally got onto Body for Life and broke through and got down to low 120s. I even taught myself to eat broccoli! When I was on WW I used to give myself an extra point every time I ate broccoli!! It was hard to maintain, though. Maintenance, IMO, is harder than losing!! I've bounced around there for a few years, learning more and more and getting more and more serious about fitness and my health in baby steps. I'm now a group fitness (step, yoga, etc) instructor. I'd love to become a personal trainer but haven't taken the time to get the credentials. If anyone is to the point of wanting to really commit and take it to the next level, I'd be happy to crunch numbers with you and help make a plan. I love to help and encourage people but I think it's a process for everyone. You can't jump in at Bodybuilder Plan A - unless you've got a truly overboard personality. Baby steps sometimes get you there like a tortoise rather than a hare - the hare too often just gains the weight back anyway! quote:
