Mat 19 : 6
Jesus says -What God has put together let not man put asunder.
How are two pulled apart by man?
How are two joined together?
Are you aware of any situation where two were pulled apart by men?

By getting divorced. Divorce is always the choice of a person or persons, never God.

By getting married. If God allows two people to get married, then it's not outside His will - and once that marriage happens, He does not want to see it end, period.

Heh, according to my description above - sadly, all the time!

OK
I start to see.....
i'm thinking that man is men in general instead of a specific man (as in a husband)
Did that make sense?

It does indeed make sense.
And I think that you're right, to an extent. It's not always the husband's doing. Heh, aside from the obvious other party (the wife), sometimes divorce can be strongly influenced by parents, other family, friends, co-workers, counselors or psychiatrists, and even (otherwise) godly leaders. I would say that it's certainly possible that Jesus is not just teaching against a husband and wife getting divorced (though He certainly is doing that), but also commanding others not to lead married people to consider divorce.

In Washington State the government is doing its best to put asunder what Adonai has joined. The government offers women food, clothing, shelter and health care insurance if they leave their husbands. Also, if the woman is leaving to shack up with another man is inadmissable in determining the division of property and custody of the children.

Also, I know of a man whos wife required him to choose between her and his children at a "christian counceling" session. When the husband protested that this was an unfair question, the "pastor" and his wife insisted that he should answer the question. Since he would not answer the question, she took the children and filed a restraining order against him, which is granted as a matter of course in this state. After the dust settled he lost custody of his children because she got up to take care if them at night when they were babies. Though he has never missed a support payment and has made every effort to abide by the "agreement", she has repeatedly violated the parenting plan and when she admitted this before an arbitor, she was just told that she should not do that.

Sorry for the rant, but I am a little tired of seeing families destroyed by the interpretation of "be subject to the higher authorities" being interpreted as secular governmental authorities and happiness/romance being proclaimed as the primary reason for marrage. I'm also less than comfortable with the seemingly constant implications that fathers are unnecessary if not detrimental in the raising of children.
