ORIGINAL: Dragonnie Megachurches are too popular to be real. Would the 5,000 or the 4,000 in attendance that Jesus spoke to - and fed - be considered mega? Good point JimboFletch, just don't forget that after the covered dish supper when Jesus got serious about his teachings; all of them save the 12 boggied. (John 6:53-68) Thanks RC quote:

ORIGINAL: Dragonnie Megachurches are too popular to be real. There is a biblical precedence for megachurches. Read Acts, Chapter 2, verses 40-47. That sounds like a megachurch to me. 3,000 people came to Christ after Peter's first sermon! I would sure love to see that happen now. I get excited every time I see one come to Christ! I can't imagine how exciting it would be to see 3,000! True, I agree. But it also says they continued steadfast in the apostles' doctrine. Here I open a can of worms that's best for another thread: (or maybe another website--been nice knowing y'all.) Hagee, Osteen, Parsley, Laurie, Warren, Paul Crouch, etc, and their congregations are not "continuing steadfast in the apostles' doctrine Yes, a small or a large congregation can be in error. I've learned that even in a lovey-dovey congregation there can be heresy and rebellion against G d on the part of the leaders.
