I didn't look anyone in the eye at church yesterday morning - - - I was too busy looking at their shoes! [:D]

Well, would you offer anyone a job? [:D]

teaspoon61 -> RE: Sensible Shoes (6/9/2008 8:42:47 PM)

Of the women, most were "sensible" and scuff free. Of those who had sandels they had decent pedicures.

Of the men, most were scuff free.

as for men......you BET i notice their shoes! scuffed? tsk tsk. white socks with black shoes? ewwww! tennis shoes with dress pants? why??? if you going on a date (for example) and can't make more of an effort than that...that's VERY telling to the woman. it shows you not only don't care about your own appearance...but will probably be lax about many other things, as well.

I couldn't agree w/u on this one at al!!!!!!!!!!
I wear white socks w/black shoes........and wear tennis shoes with nearly everything.
And i care about ALOT of things.

R.

A lady can get by with white socks and black shoes. In fact, with some outfits it looks downright sharp.

But a man should never wear white socks and black (dress) shoes. If he does he may as well hikie up his trousers for the highwater look too.

I seldom notice a woman's shoes when we meet unless they are reflected in the rest of her outfit or grossly inappropriate for her outfit (that is, if she'd dressed appropriately for what she's doing then the shoes don't matter)

.Pammy -> RE: Sensible Shoes (6/11/2008 4:09:54 PM)

Appropriateness is the key, for sure.

I wear comfortable flats most of the week, but I like heels (not probably more than 2 inches) for church, concerts, and other nice occasions. I can feel the change in stance.

Kimberly, you didn't wear heels when you were driving, did you?

I'm surprised nobody's mentioned toe cleavage yet. I love to try to show a little.

Toe cleavage! How risque. [sm=icon_smile_blush.gif] I may never be able to look at people's feet the same.

I can't believe this thread is up to page three, but now that the image of toe cleavage has been brought up... [;)][:D]

utilityfielder -> RE: Sensible Shoes (6/11/2008 8:22:01 PM)

I remember back in the 70's when platform shoes for men was the fad. I bought a pair. They were agony on my feet. I salute any women that can wear heals and not be in total agony.

It just cracks me up that we're still talking about shoes. [:D]

So that makes two types of shoes you won't wear?

Focusing -> RE: Sensible Shoes (6/12/2008 11:40:17 AM)

I prefer bare feet ... forget the shoes [:D]

BugLady -> RE: Sensible Shoes (6/12/2008 12:25:02 PM)

Oh no! Not naked feet. [sm=icon_smile_blush.gif]

yes, pammy...i have actually done that! lol

the last day of our CDL training, our group of 4 students (2 men and 2 women) and 1 instructor all went for a 3 hr drive. we all took turns. well...the other woman and i had had the SAME idea that morning and both of us wore high heels (mine were 3-1/2" stillettos, of course). the men didn't think i could do it...but i did! and when i parked that big boy at the truck stop and got out to walk into the restaurant...a bunch of drivers that had been watching the student driver-plastered truck all started honkin their air horns. it was a riot!!!! (i curtsied and waved, of course [:)] )

oh....absolutely! i refuse to buy a pair of high heels that don't show toe cleavage! lol

I'm totally with you there. It's just not right somehow for a pair of heels when the upper completely covers the toe cleavage, is it? Icky. I like a somewhat pointed toe too. Don't like square toes.

Weird Al sings a song called "Driving a Truck" where its this really deep manly voice singing about driving his semi while wearing high heels. Pam, you now have that song stuck in my head every time I look at this thread. I hope you're satisfied. [8D]

And you can add cowboy boots to that list too. [:D]
