Oh yes, coffee I understand that.....my consumption is cut in half in the summer though. We drink alot of water too. We went through 8 5 gallon bottles I get from my service.

I have lived here off and on since I moved here with my parents when I was 14. I am 42 now. Oh and here is Arizona BTW.

Nadine, after being married you don't go back to miss. I believe (and I can check etiquette book) that in your situation you can either keep Mrs. or go to Ms.

I, for one, don't want to be a Mrs. after divorce... It would be entirely different if "he" had departed dearly. :)

Hi all you GT gangstas! I miss being there, too. Maybe next year. (Next year... Jerusalem)

This weekend, I'm pre-packing / shopping for a week-long vacation beginning next Saturday. A friend is coming over in a little while to become more familiar with my dog who she'll be looking out for in my absence. *I'm so blessed she doesn't have to go to the vet for the Dog Motel.* I'm also working on a project / presentation for when I return.

I'll have to make something to eat for a family reunion tomorrow, and I'll take my Mom there. Only God knows how many more reunions she'll be able to attend.

Oh... and in keeping the thread on track w/mischief ... I have heard it said that Vasoline is a wonderful product for practical jokes. It rarely harms anything ... is not readily noticeable ...

While they're on their laptops, and not paying attention, we could sneak around and tie all their shoelaces together.

Just to be nice, I brought some Dawn dishwashing detergent with me. Ya'll might need it.

Today's etiquette lesson:

quote:

A man gives his name to his wife for life-- or until she herself through re-marriage relinquishes it. A widow, therefore, should always continue to use her husband's Christian names. She is Mrs. John Hunter Titherington Smith (or, Mrs. J.H. Titherington Smith), but never Mrs. Sarah Smith, if she cares at all about good taste.

That's from the Emily Post etiquette book, 1945 edition.

Oh my, that's Emily Post for ya!

When I first started working at the newspaper, I picked up the "society" page and read and said, "DON'T THESE WOMEN HAVE FIRST NAMES???" They were all "Mrs. John Smith" and "Mrs. James Brown."

Personally, I am and might always be a Ms. ... It's not the business of some crazed postal worker whether or not I have a husband ...

Um... I was just using Miss as an endearing term. You know like a kid calls his Sunday School teacher Miss <insert first name here> whether she's a Miss, Mrs, or Ms or none of the above.

But it's good to know what Emily Post thinks. Afterall, I pretty much pattern my life around proper etiquette.

Yep, I think it will plenty of fun here this weekend. These prank ideas are great. Unfortunately, I don't have any more to add because I'm such an innocent little boy.

(cough..cough...sputter) i'm sorry...i must've chocked on something.

Here's one. This works if you have a good amount of time when you won't get caught.

Take a few of the light switches out and flip them over. Then change them back and flip others over when the person you are playing the prank on isn't around.

^ That reminds me of a time when a co-worker went on a business trip. She was the queen of pranks. So together, we went in her office and turned everything upside down but the furniture and the statues. Photographs inside the frame...books on the bookshelf... well, you get the idea... We had a lot more fun than she did when she returned.
