Doesn't that mean you're single? And yet you're posting in this thread? I'm a bit curious to what you would say to justify this.

No, it means that I'm not single. The one whom I'm flirting with is indeed my girlfriend.

This is the Xtreme Teens folder. Most of threads consist of randomness and non-topicness anyways. The TOS is still abided by. As much as the Pirate Code is by pirates.

Nothing is being violated. Relax.

Holybattleaxe -> RE: Flirt Thread - the thread for singles (6/9/2008 9:44:25 PM)

i think u might be confusing him/her

NealIRC -> RE: Flirt Thread - the thread for singles (6/9/2008 10:32:52 PM)

Er yeah, having an "other half" means not single. My typo.

Right. No rules were violated. No laws were violated.

But besides that no rules, policy, terms of service, or law was violated...

What I meant was this, from the topic starter.

this is the flirting thread for singles, i hope y'all love this thread and let the flirting began. [;)] hehehe

My question is - do you think that sentence deserves any respect?

So most threads consist of randomness. So most threads consist of non-topicness.

Do you think those above reasons in any way justify your reasons?

Do you think that because there are already wrongs, that it is okay to do wrong?

Neal

I look at it this way--- they are not married, therefore they are still single. Under the OP, they have the right to post here, even if they DO only flirt with each other.

This isn't a serious thread like the one on the singles' forum, anyway. It's just another one of our games. Most of the kids here are 13-16 anyway. It's all in play. So please respect our... unique eccentricites.

I will be the first to admit that we teens aren't the best at sticking to the supposed rules.

Is this an argument that justifies breaking the rules?

quote:

And everyone here knows that these threads never stay on topic for long.

Right, and that's when a moderator jumps in to say get back or stay on topic.

quote:

And also, many threads are made just to goof off in. Once you're here for a while, you'll catch on. [;)]

In my short experience here, I have observed that me and Konstantinos broke the rules. I would say the results were not favorable.

I got a p.m. from a mod, a warning from a 2nd, as well as an e-mail from the head forum administrator. These rules are as strict as steel.

No, it's not okay to break the rules. Not when you have cases where some threads are made to goof off. I really don't follow your argument. The fact that people sometimes break rules is no reason or excuse to sometimes break them.

Intresting. This is just black and white - no gray. So there are only 2 statuses: married, or single.

This leaves no room for in between.

Correct.

Once again--- no rules WERE broken here and i seriously doubt that mandy meant it was "OK" to break the rules. She would be banned by now if that were the case, don't you think? But their flirting is hardly off topic because this IS the flirting thread. Under that logic, you could almost say that its off topic to talk about food in the chat thread.

If ya notice when editing your profile, there is no option for "dating". It's either single or married.

you just won my argument. they can be IN the singles flirting thread if they are, indeed, single.

NealIRC -> RE: Flirt Thread - the thread for singles (6/9/2008 10:53:32 PM)

If I had a girlfriend, would it be okay for me to say I'm single?

What about if someone didn't wear a ring on their ring finger - it's safe to assume they're not married, but is it safe to assume they're single?

Sigh.

PrincessButtercup -> RE: Flirt Thread - the thread for singles (6/9/2008 10:56:13 PM)

Dude. It's a game thread. Please chill out and let us enjoy it.

_MavericK_ -> RE: Flirt Thread - the thread for singles (6/9/2008 10:56:50 PM)

under the status that you invoked, the "married" or "single" status, you are either one or the other. It's the marital status bar's fault, not ours.

I just checked and there's also divorced and widower.

;)

PrincessButtercup -> RE: Flirt Thread - the thread for singles (6/9/2008 11:00:03 PM)

But teens generally aren't divorced or widowers.

;)

_MavericK_ -> RE: Flirt Thread - the thread for singles (6/9/2008 11:00:31 PM)

So for the sake of argument, is the definition of "single" "someone with no living marital partner" or what?

hahaha this is ridiculous

They know the activity in threads like these, I assure you. They've allowed them to go on. If they were concerned, such threads wouldn't exist.

If your girlfriend found out, it wouldn't be good for you. [;)]

The status bar does not indicate a "taken" status, which is what we fall under, it instead offers "single" or "married".

Single is what I was before her. Married is what I'll be with her.

I've seriously never heard anyone refer to themselves as "single" once they was involved in a relationship. Apparently, it's a new society trend, and it sucks, and I won't be classified as "single".

Thanks. The end.

_MavericK_ -> RE: Flirt Thread - the thread for singles (6/9/2008 11:08:50 PM)

This debate is now postponed for all of our peace of mind.

If I get around to it, I might post a new thread for the administrators in request for alternates. Such as "taken." Or "in a relationship" (as MySpace uses).
