CherishedbyGod -> Why Is The Deer Chasing My Cat (6/8/2008 5:19:50 PM)

I never had this problem before. Deer, cats, and other critters have shared my property for years and there has been no problem. Usually, in the past, when the deer sees my cat it will go very cautiously, with great curiosity, up to the cat.

Twice today, the deer was chasing my poor kittie. I mean really chasing him[&:]

I wonder why. Maybe she is pregnant? One deer always brings her new-born bambies to my property and brings them up here. Maybe this is a different ma-ma.

Any ideas?

I have no idea, but I had a stray cat and domesticated rabbit show up in my yard one day and they decided they liked it here. It was cute until the rabbit went nuts and started attacking the cat...trying to do the wild thing with her every chance he got.[sm=icon_smile_blush.gif]

It got so out of control (that rabbit was crazy) that one day I tried to use the broom to get them apart and the rabbit turned on me....freaked me out! I finally had to kick them both to the curb!

Not saying your deer wants to do "it" with your cat...but who knows? I didn't think they ventured outside their species?!? Guess that's why they're called "animals!"[8D]

I just found out! She has a brand-new bambi![:D] It must only be a day or two old. It is so cute[:D] It can barely walk. It is not any bigger than my cat.

It is so precious. I wish you all could see it!

Well, no wonder! She was protecting her little baby![;)]

The guy mowed my field last week and I wondered why he left one patch of dried grass untouched. I bet the Lord arranged that and she had her bambi in that patch of tall grass.

I never try to shoo the deer off my property...until today. I wondered why she stood her ground and would not leave. Yes, she was protecting her little baby[;)]

Too precious for this animal lover[:)]

She had two bambis[:D] I saw both of them this AM with mama. They are sooo tiny and sooo cute! They must be only a few days old.

She is a good mama....

I know! I don't even own a camera. I need to go to the store and get one of those throw-away ones.

They already know not to let mama out of sight. You should have seen them wobbling behind her this AM when she went to the back of the property[:D] They are no bigger than my cat!

I worried about them because a stray dog came onto my property today and I was afraid it might attack babies.

I think she might have had them under my deck[;)]
