My new favorite movie. I watched it, bought the book, and discovered that I actually liked the movie way better than I liked the book. The book was hopeless, whereas the movie ended on a note of hope.

I found I identified with the profound aloneness/loneliness of the character.

Hubby wants to see it. Can't say I'm as interested. We've ordered it from Netflix. We'll see.

I loved the movie, until I read the book. I am currently trying to become a director and screenwriter and I would like to do a movie that is faithful to the book. The whole point of the book is that he has become a monster and a Legend, just as the vampires once were. The movie copied 28 days later.

Same idea as the book "The Omega Man" (probably wrong title) wrote about three decades ago. There was a movie starring Charlton Heston "The Omega Man" which was based on that book. The main character in all of these was "Robert Neville."

Unless I am wrong which could be a likely possibility.

Anyway, the movie - "I am Legend." Well... "I was bored."

EDIT: Why did they have to kill the dog? That just wasn't right. [&o]

I thought it was a really good movie. I haven't seen the alternate endings yet. We saw it at the movies and haven't gotten to watch the DVD with all the bonus materials.

We bought the DVD and watched the alternate ending and I, personally, liked it better.
As for The Omega Man- this was from The Omega Man who my husband thought was the scariest movie that he saw when he was young. We rented it a few years ago and we both laughed. If you have Netflix...I know you can watch it on 'watch it now' since I sat down with my son to watch it and yes...he also laughed.

Just FYI, there was a thread a few months back that discussed the movie and the alternate endings here: http://forums.crosswalk.com/I_Am_Legend_alternate_ending_(spoilers)/m_3232093/mpage_1/tm.htm#3279907

Thanks. I checked and couldn't find anything on this movie, so that's why I started this thread.
