The point is that Barak Obama may not be a legal U.S. Natural Born Citizen as per the law on the books when he was born. Reading from another blog a member pointed out that at the time BHO was born the law on the books until November 13, 1986 is that the POTUS requirments are that you are a natural born citizen if the child was not born to TWO U.S. Citizen Parents. If only one parent was a U.S. Citizen at the time of birth that parent must have resided in the U.S. for at least 10 years of which five years had to be after the age of 16. Baraks mom was only 18 when he was born which means that though she had been a U.S. Citizen for more that 10 years, she did not acceed the 5 year period after becoming 16. IOW, she was not old enough to qualify her son for automatic U.S. Citizenship.

From a political standpoint... no one is questioning his citizenship but a few bloggers in cyberspace (who already hate him). Showing his papers because of this would be pandering to them and would not make the people who hate him feel differently. The people who support him are not worried about it. And the people who have any power in the situation don't seem concerned.

I am certain that if this were truly an issue, Clinton would have had him booted from the campaign trail months ago.

I have seen this hashed thru elsewhere and Obama is legal.
And they went thru the republican candidate that was born in the Panama Canal district.

So, we can agree that neither McCain nor Obama are legal citizens and that the next President will be an immigrant, thus finally making the Constitution null and void, causing the President to disolve Congress and declare martial law and have the military confiscate all the firearms and beer and renaming the country the Oliver Stone States of America, Inc. (OSSAI) and the President will appoint Tommy Chong Secretary of Agriculture and Hal Lindsey to the new cabinet-level posituion of Secretary of Paranoia.

But why won't they then do same for BHO?

The Illuminati is just covering it's tracks. If McLobby wins Keith Obermann will file a class action suit, which the ultra-liberal Supreme Court will hear and overturn the election by a 5-4 vote thus throwing the US into chaos whereby the European Union will appoint Javier Solana as Chief Poobah over the American Colonies and outlaw French cuisine. It just gets worse and worse.[X(]

I think all candidates for president should be fully open and support their claim for elgibility to run for the postion.

A valid birth certificate should be one of the required and public records.

Seems like that would have come up a little sooner in the parade. Citizenship is also a requirement for a few other things...... like running for Senate.[sm=aside.gif]

But why won't they then do same for BHO?

The resolution is non-binding, i.e., meaningless legally. My argument remains just as valid.

This is all moot, anyway. Someone (or some group) has been and is jockeying BO into power. So....even if he doesn't meet the constitutional criteria for presidency, who cares? They'll just change the constitution! After all, it's now considered a "living document" and can change and grow!

Let us also not forget the talk in 2000 about changing the Constitution so that Gov. Ahnold Terminator could run for President to succeed His Excellency in 2008. Such talk followed Ahnold's rousing speech at the 2000 GOP Convention about how he was inspired by the Nixon-Humphrey debate (which never took place) to become a Republican. Thankfully, the Constitution is very difficult to amend, thus preventing Austrian Army deserters on steroids from taking the highest office in the country.[sm=fireanger.gif]

Section 1. All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.
