Royalties? Are you kidding? I have been in and around this industry, and if you do not own the group that you are singing with, you don't see any royalties. UNLESS you are a songwriter. The sell of the product, helps the owner meet payroll each week, but too most owners, the singer/musician gets reimbursed for the recording, when the singer/musician gets paid weekly.

If you leave the group, the owner can sell that piece of product, for as long as they want.

Wow, I did not know that. Thanks. Kind of odd though. I went to school with a man who, when we were in kindergarten had a small speaking role in a low budge movie. I remember him telling me when we were well up in high school, that whenever that movie was shown, he got a royalty check. Now it was only a few dollars, but it was still what he deserved for playing that part.
I always assumed music was the same way. Kind of startling.

He was invited to the Kingsmen Reunion Concert, so I assume he is.

Hi there, I ran across this thread tonight and read your comments to Randy, he was really touched by all the nice things you all said.

He misses you all as much as you miss him and thanks you for all kind words. You never know when you might see him on the road again...sharing the word is in his heart!

ALSO..Santa, you were correct..Randy sold insurance for 6 months, then went to work for cintas for 2 years and for the past 3 years Biz Dev Exec for Office Max for half of TN. He is living in Nashville, TN and living a very blessed life. Again, thank you all for your support.

I have a taped segent from off of the tv show that Bill Traylor does from the NQC, and it had the Carolina Boys with Randy Crawford and Parker and Ray and Jerry. That is one of my favorite Kingsmen/CBoys clips that i own.

I always enjoyed Randy's singing, but he's probably making 4 or 5 times as much money.

Wonder if he could get me a discount on a printer?
