Hi [:D]

Why is my user name showing twice when I was in the general forum just now if I am only logged in once?

I first opened the window and I was showing logged on but I had not logged on. Then when I did login my name was showing twice, on the logged in list on top of the General forum.

Thanks for your reply but I am confused, bear with me a sec and try to put yourself in my shoes.

If I open a new browser without being logged in and my name is showing like I am, then that means someone is logged in with my name.

Don't know everything there is to know about web design, but I know enough to know that user names don't log themselves in. Never have, never will.

Would someone please check the ip that logged into my account before I logged in at 9:00pm tonight, and check it against my ip?

I don't need another reply and I don't need to know the other ip, not asking for that information. Just asking that it please be taken care of the same way you would like it taken care of for yourself.

DId you actually physcially log off last time you left or just close the window/browser. If so it's possible that our system just didn't log you out.

Sorry. Didn't mean to be flippant.

There have been times when it shows people logged in as many as a dozen times! It's some sort of weird forum thing; it doesn't mean someone signed in as you.

Zoebob gave one explanation - sometimes the system doesn't log you out, so the next time you log in, you're there. Sometimes you accidentally log in on different portals (like if someone links to a post in a different portal) and you don't sign out on that portal, so it shows you as still logged in.

If you're afraid someone has logged in as you, you can change your password. But I'm 99.99% sure that this isn't the case.

There is no way someone could log into your account unless they know your password.

I know one time it showed me in a folder that I had left like 30 minutes before.

Sometimes it will show my handle in a room more than one time.

I've logged out, logged in under my non mod handle and it still showed me logged in as Kath somewhere in forums. It takes the system time to refresh, and I have no idea how long that is.

Right now if you check the online member list, in alphabetical order, there is one handle listed 4 times and at least 3 others listed twice. It's a glitch. The system hasn't caught up or they had two windows open at one time.

One time one of another mod's handle showed up 15 times at once.

I've seen mine listed 6 times at once before.
