I have never been contacted for jury duty. I wonder why that is.

One of my aunt's is a court clerk in Montana and she swears up and down that it's all random. Unfortunately for my mom, her "luck" doesn't extend to lotto tickets...

Are you a convicted felon?

If not, are you registered to vote?

I have an upset stomach once in a great while, but I've managed to avoid those other conditions.

But I do plan to look into it. There is a show on our Southern Gospel station every Friday night about natural remedies. The Doctor on the show goes around to churches and speaks. They have just opened a store in Sevierville.

The store owner has a lot of moxie, he weighed over 400 pounds and opened a health food/natural healing store. I think he said that he had lost 200 pounds and now weighed 250.

Are you talking about Roland? I haven't been to his store yet, but I want to check it out.

I hope I'm not a convicted felon. If so, I should have hired an attorney.

Yes, I'm registered to vote.

Since the microwave cooks inside out, they were just right on the inside, juicy, but fully cooked, with the grilled markings on the outside and and a great taste (we added just a little Dales marinade before putting them on the grill).

I am going to have to try that.

Isn't technology wonderful?

Ooooooh! I'll have to remember that one....

I've been called up 3 times for jury duty: municipal (didn't have to serve because I was 6 hours away at college at the time); superior court (called in twice but was never sat on a jury); US District court (never got called in).

My mom however must get jury duty of some sort every couple months. I've seriously never known anyone who gets called as often as she does...

I was called for jury duty once, about 27 years ago.

I have heard that statement so many times I am thinking of changing my name to Technology Johnson. I think it would be great to have everyone think I was wonderful.

Dear Kerr...what would you do to a couple of theiving vandals that messed with our cars today????

Went out to Lowe's and saw our neighbor's car ajar...thought one of her kids must have done it...when we returned we noticed the hood on the car that was our son's that recently died (the car that is) was also ajar...and then my husband noticed that a case of cokes he had in the backseat of his car was missing...talked to another neighbor and he said he found his glove compartment ajar with papers thrown everywhere...so we called the local police department to report it so they could be on the alert...turns out they had several reports in the neighborhood next to our's about cars being broke into. The kids in our neighborhood that first came to mind who I thought could have been involved are out of town!

If the vandals are juvies, the worst that could be done would be to put them in a juvenile detention center, if the vandalism is part of a long string of crimes.

You bring up a good point. Is it just me or are people just not afraid of punishment anymore? Is that because we don't punish the way we use to? Just wandering.

The most appropriate would be to make them work off the cost of the damage they caused plus the cost of making sure they get the work done. They could pick up litter along a road or in a park.

Don't feel bad cranky! My grandma is in her mid-80's and she's never been called...

And as far as I'm aware she is not a felon...

And I know she votes...

Hmmmm.... Maybe Grandma has some deep, dark secrets...

LOL.

And I would say you are correct about them not working. They have too much time on their hands.

Always remember to lock your cars, most crimes are crimes of opportunity.

Since stealing a case of cokes and opening a hood are relatively minor crimes, I wouldn't expect more than probation (juvenile or adult) unless the criminal has a pretty long record.

Yep...sounds like what I tell hubby all the time....actually he does lock it most of the time.
Not really worried about the cokes...I think it cost us a whole $3 after tax! Just wanted police to be aware so they can patrol the area more. Figure it was just some kids but today it's cokes and whatever minor thing they can find...tomorrow it could be something more...like a weapon or car stereos. Neighbor 3 doors down said he found his glove compartment rifled through.
