I have a sound machine and it was one of my favorite possessions when I lived in apartments.

I don't need a sound machine...I have several built in...one is 4 and one is 44 then there is the 10 year old...not to mention the 3 month old cocker spaniel puppy... 3 tvs...video games...to top it off the 44 year old loves to sleep with his radio blaring talk radio programs...then they wonder why I LOVE my Ipod!!!

You can keep your sound machine and I'll keep mine. How does that sound to you?

I have a small battery powered device that my mother got as a premium for keeping track of her purchases for a survey company. It makes a bubbling brook sound as well as a rain storm sound. It is nothing to look at but it does make the sound.

I'm glad Mr. Cranky doesn't know you either--he'd probably try to buy it from you.

Besides the two sounds I mentioned it also has the sound of waves on the shore and the sound of a night sky in the country and it includes a sleep timer.

Does that make it more attractive?

It's called a Noise Machine & is sold by Radio Shack here in Roanoke. A friend of mine has one going every night to sleep by. I'd never sleep with all of that noise going as it would keep me awake.

I go to sleep and wake up to the radio. Music at night and usually news in the morning depending on the station.

I have a stereo receiver with speakers in the bedroom and bathroom connected to a 14 event 7 day timer which I can set to different times on different days if I want to.

Kerr, I have a question for you, as this IS the thread to ask you questions. When me and the Mrs. were down there, we went to Dollywood. At Dollywood, they had a tree called the Tennessee water tree that ca produce "the prodigious amount of 100,000 gallons of water a day". Is this tree for real? I can't find anything about it on the Internet.

Kerr must still be playing with the grandkids yet today. I foung this thread at the bottom of the first page. Not a good place for it to be as Kerr won't like that, so we all have to post, post, & post some more.

I was thinking of Kerr several times today and wondering if he'd been by to post.

Good name for a station.

I'm glad to see another cat lover over here.

He has now.

Son and grandsons are on their three day trip back to California now.

They are nice and smart and loving and we will miss them terribly.

Nana Kerrlaw slept until almost noon, recovering from the days at DollyWorld, Splash Country, et al.

I've seen the tree. I think that all the water from the water rides drains through it.

I'm glad everyone had a good time and enjoyed each other. And maybe it's just me but I always think it's lovely when little boys come to visit. And then go home.

I like your Lazarus avatar. I remember when you found him (or did he find you?) and were trying to decide on a name for him. He's a pretty boy.

Three days is about right. However, they live so far away and we wish that we could see them more often.

Mrs. Kerrlaw left school to cut his nearly lifeless body from a batting cage net. Whereupon he bit her. She got tetanus shots and the kitten was quarantined. Four days later we took him home.

He is thrilled that the "strangers" are gone from his house, and he spent the entire day on our bed today.

I'm sure you do. How often do you get to see them? Do you and Mrs. K go out there at all?

I remember he was nearly dead but didn't remember the details. Poor thing. He certainly lucked out that it was Mrs. K who saved him. He couldn't have landed in a better situation.

All our cats are lottery winners.

We only see the grandkids an average of once a year. Since neither of us like to fly, we didn't see them in Germany, but Mrs. K did go to CA once. We are hoping he can move to a base nearer, most likely Keisler AFB in Miss., which is easy for us to visit.

One more Grandkid story and I'll shut up.

No. 1 grandson, age 9, has determined on his own that he wants to read the Bible cover to cover. He plans to read one page every night.

The thing is that he loves the story of Jesus walking on water, so he has been re-reading that page every night.

If Dude doesn't get to them first? You mean the cookies you were making for me?
