What is your take on the "exploding pixel" phenomenon with digital television. Do you really think it is better than analog, all things considered?

I love digital television, HDTV is amazing when compared to analog, but I don't want no pixels exploding in my set.

Whether you like it or not, you better be ready by next February.

Hello everyone!

Goodbye everyone!

We are leaving tomorrow morning for a camping trip. Just maybe the Cranky family will FINALLY catch some fish. Pray for us. The kids have learned a lot about casting, but not much about catching and cleaning.

I'll visit either Sunday evening or Monday morning! I hope you all have a blessed weekend!

Oh, Mona, yes--I fully expected to like the Simon and Patrick better because it is a solid top, but wow--the A&L truly sounded so much better. The way they make the A&L, I'm not worried about the top. Plus, this is just an extra guitar that can get beat up.

However, I'm still loving the Simon and Patrick guitar too for numerous reasons. As you can tell, I'm not too swift at making purchasing decisions.

Mrs. K and I vote for the cool black guitar. And it's cedar so it will smell good.

I appreciate that delayed gratification is a virtue, but if you wait too long, Mr. cranky may want to combine two birthday gifts into one.

Vote noted! I love the black.

IF I wait too long, maybe I'll get both!

I have HDTV, with local channels reception via an antenna. I have not switched my DirectTV subscription over to HD yet. I do notice screen freeze and exploding pixels every now and then, and if that is causing a problem watching a program I have noticed I can switch to the analog version of the channel and the problem is not there. When it is working properly, which is most of the time, HDTV is great.

Attention! Random statistic on the way!

Did you know that 67% of people make up statistics on the spot?

That's staggering.

Anywhos, back to your regularly scheduled topic.

32% of the time, you will find that 65% of the stats are conflicting by about 86%.

I had a great day at the doctor yesterday.

Last Monday I burnt the roof of my mouth and it wasn't better. The Doc looked at it and said "Goodness, that looks horrible". I told him that my entire mouth, gums, and teeth were hurting. He said that there was nothing he could do about it except give me some liquid lidocaine to "swish" 20 minutes before eating.

Now my mouth had been numb for most of 24 hours.

Not being able to eat BBQ ribs would be a sin.

Oh, I didn't say that I stopped eating. In fact, we went to Texas Roadhouse this afternoon after watching Get Smart.

I almost always get the Hot and Bleu salad, but broke tradition and got a pulled pork and chicken meal.

Ate the salad and pulled pork (along with peanuts and rolls), and brought home the chicken and baked beans for tomorrow.

I did, and brought some rolls home for tomorrow (but will have regular butter though).

If a restaurant has a black and bleu burger on the menu I don't have to read any further.

Me neither. Tells me someone has been mistreating the meat. Time to go somewhere else.
