Jim Carrey genuinely makes me laugh most of the time, though I can do without the 'dumb and dumber' type nonsense. LOVE him in Bruce Almighty, he's just perfect in that. Also love him in Liar, Liar. I was just watching part of it again the other day, giggling the whole time. Him fighting with the blue pen (trying to call it red) was amusing, but then when he fell behind the desk and popped back up with BLUE!! BLUE!! BLUE!! written all over his face I just lost it. HA. Adam Sandler, really liked him in both The Wedding Singer and Spanglish. Everything else, I'll pass. I think he could have some real chops if somebody would put him in a real role (like Spanglish) instead the the nonsense he's usually in.

ORIGINAL: humbleinspirit Adam Sandler is worse. I second this opinion. Jim Carry has at least proven that he can star in a variety of roles and be successful in them (despite the critics occational panning of them). Even his comedies aren't all focused on dimwitted/outlandish characters ("Ace Ventura: Pet Detective" or "Dumb & Dumber"); some are actually of a little bit higher calibre (such as "Bruce Almighty" or "Liar Liar") Sandler has tried to break his "comedic" stereotype with shows like "Reign Over Me" and "Spanglish," but he continually falls back into comedies that are often stupid and filled with the same juevenile humor we're used to seeing from him. Thus, I think Sandler is worse than Carry.

ORIGINAL: freakofnature Carrey- (movies of his I've seen) The Cableman- Disliked it You know, I think the reason why a lot of people who saw this flick didn't like it (and I'm one of them) was because, when it came out, everyone was still expecting Jim Carry to be "Mr. Funny and Outlandish!" While there are some comical scenes/aspects in this film, when I look back at it, it was never really meant to be a comedy. Jim Carry was already trying to break away from his image so he wouldn't get type-cast for the rest of his career as Ace Venture or The Mask. "The Cable Guy" is basically a Horror/Thriller about a guy who unintentionally befriends a cable company employee who turns out to be a stalker with some twisted motives.

Will Farrell was mentioned earlier. He is by far the most annoying. I think Jim Carry is best when he stays away from slapstick comedy. I loved the Truman Show and Man on the Moon. Adam Sandler is okay. I tend to like his chick flick style comedies, the Wedding Singer was great! His best movie was "Punch Drunk Love."

I must admit that I have grown to really dislike Jim Carrey. I used to love him but he goes too far over the top. Adam Sandler has some decent movies, "First 50 Dates, The Wedding Singer" but yes there are those that stink. The comedian that I have grown to despise is Will Ferrell. Between the Ricky Bobby movie and Blades of Glory? Now there is a new one to skip. I lose brain cells if exposed too long. Night at the Roxbury was bad enough but I guess he thought he had to top that.

But apples for apples and oranges for oranges, Jim Carey is still a better actor overall. Now, does anyone remember Jim Carey's first film Once Bitten from back during the 1980's as well?
