When we queue to enter Heaven, will St Peter check our passports to see whether we are Church of England, Methodist, Baptist or whatever? Is anyone specifically excluded or specifically included in the Kingdom of God?

Saved people. The denomination doesn't matter. Its only church worshippers who believe their church...or attendance in that church...or the doctrine it preaches saves them. Jesus saves.

When you go home to visit your parents, do they ask to check your birth certificate or do they just know you? The only inclusion is born again, blood-bought, redeemed joint-heirs in Christ Jesus. No others will be there.

SoninMe: I totally agree with your view. JimboFletch: How does one become "born again, blood bought, redeemed joint-heir"? If someone is brought up a Christian, say the Church of England or whatever: he truly believes and lives a good exemplary Christ-like life. Is he "born again" etc ...? Is it a ceremony like a baptism? If he is not "born again" is he doomed to hell?

From verse 3 in that chapter: Jesus answered and said to him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God."

Hi JimboFletch, Thanx for the link: How can I become a Christian. I have read it. I agree with ALL the Bible quotations. I have prayed the prayer therein. I was baptised as a child. I go to church regularly and I am active in that church (denomination does not matter). Yet: I still don't know about the "Born Again" etc ... terms you mention in your Post. How does one achieve this? Sorry to be a pest - I'm seeking answers. Thanx and God bless.

Jimbo's comments about the first part of your question are spot on. As for the second half of your question in regards to being born-again, etc.. Scripture says that Jesus paid our ransom to free us from bondage! Bondage from what? Bondage to sin and its consequences, physical death followed by eternal separation from God. Why did Jesus need to pay this ransom? Because we are all infected with sin (Romans 3:23), and are therefore worthy of judgment from God (Romans 6:23). How did Jesus pay our ransom? By dying on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins (1 Corinthians 15:3; 2 Corinthians 5:21). How could Jesus’ death sufficiently pay for all of our sins? Jesus was God in human form, God come to earth to become one of us so He could identify with us and die for our sins (John 1:1,14). As God, Jesus’ death was infinite in value, sufficient to pay for the sins of the entire world (1 John 2:2). Jesus’ resurrection after His death demonstrated that His death was the sufficient sacrifice, that He had truly conquered sin and death. Because of His love for us, God has made it exceedingly simple to become a Christian. All you have to do is receive Jesus as your Savior, fully accepting His death as the sufficient sacrifice for your sins (John 3:16), fully trusting Him alone as your Savior (John 14:6; Acts 4:12). Becoming a Christian is not all about rituals, going to church, or doing certain things while refraining from other things. Becoming a Christian is all about having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. A personal relationship with Jesus Christ, through faith, is what makes a person a Christian. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Earthless: Thanx for your response. You are 100% correct. "All you have to do is receive Jesus as your Saviour ... becoming a Christian is not all about rituals, going to church ..." etc. I agree wholeheartedly. Now how about "born again" "blood bought" and "redeemed joint-heir" (See JimboFletch's post). How does one become such? Is it by receiving Jesus as you say. Or is something else due to happen to oneself? Thanx for taking the time to explain.

mvic, Those are all the same thing - when you are saved, you are born-again, stamped and sealed by the Holy Spirit for the day of redemption.

Thanx Earthless. At last ... the response I've been waiting for. So if someone asks me "are you born again?" (see my post No. 7 above). Do I answer "yes"?

Based on your own admission, yes. The great brother in the Lord that used to be my mentor (has has passed to be with the Lord) has an excellent sermon on this very topic. From the moment I came into this thread this sermon of his kept coming to the forefront of my mind. Please take the time to listen to it HERE. God bless you. Get into the Word and get the Word into you.

Praying a prayer does NOT save you. Jesus said: "Deny yourself, take up your cross daily, and follow me." #1) Admit that you are a sinner #2) Daily, you must willingly do whatever is necessary to remove the practice of sin in your life - repentance. #3) Follow after Christ and strive to be like Him We do not "accept Jesus into our hearts." (That is NOT Biblical) Rather, Jesus accepts US! It is those whom Jesus will welcome into Heaven with open arms.

Promise, Where did anyone say "praying a prayer" saves you? Salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ Jesus alone. Nothing we can do daily "maintains" our salvation.

God doesn't hear the prayers of those who are not His children, so you can't technically pray to become a Christian since you'd be a sinner praying to a Holy God. If you're not a Christian, then God has not imputed the righteousness of Christ upon you, so all there is to look upon is sin, and God will not look upon sin. Once you are a Christian, then God no longer sees your sin, but the righteousness of Christ.

Thanx Earthless for your wisdom and for the links. PromiseLander: I agree - prayers alone do not save you. Even the devil can quote the Bible. You must WANT to follow Jesus in order to be a Christian.

One must repent - admit they have been wrong and turn 180 degrees and accept God's terms unconditionally. One must also trust Jesus completely as both Savior and Lord.

Good works come from salvation...they do not keep it or originate it. I would say, if you are trying to keep your salvation...you never had it.
