I'm just curious as to what the "norm" is.

But I want to work on it. I think I really do. First, I will need to get his nose out of the TV and mine off the Internet. It's just that we have no common TV interest, and we are tired after work.

That's us. We have absolutely nothing in common except the show LOST, but he won't even watch that with me because it gets in the way of his computer games. I've tried to get him to understand that we should at least set a little time aside for each other, even if just to talk, but unfortunately he isn't interested in changing his ways right now. Some of my friends have the same experiences, so I wanted to see just how common it was.

I voted "Yes, all of the time!" We run errands together, hang out together, go to appointments together etc. Other than when hubby is at work, we spend all of our time together. We go on evening walks at least several times per week and that's a great way to have some quality time together. We also cook dinner together several nights each week. We eat dinner many nights with the tv and computer on but still make time to visit a little more before bedtime. Most couples probably don't spend so much time together but that's the way we like it.

We spend all our time outside of work together also, there just isn't much of that time these days Hopefully it will be changing soon though, and I am SO excited to have my hubby back!

I voted Yes, all the time.

Our schedules allow for it. I'm a SAHM and Dh starts work early then comes home at 3pm. We have the rest of the day to spend as a family. If I ever do anything outside of the home, I try my hardest to schedule it for when Dh is at work.

He works close to where we live, so often our daughter and I will walk to his work and join him for lunch or meet him on his break.

If either of us has errands the other goes with them. At home even if we are doing different things we are around each other. I'll read while he plays video games, etc.

Once his sisters were making fun of us because we were at his mom's house, and when they saw him there by myself they said "what? Lexie isn't with you? This is a first!" They joked around that they were amazed we were able to separate. Then I came walking into the room.

We're both homebodies, plus we keep a few close friends, but not a lot of acquaintances. We keep pretty much the same friends now, so even when we visit others we are together. It works for us. I'm surprised my incessant talking hasn't driven him to insanity yet, but we've only been married 2 years so there is still time.

Dh really likes to have us be together ALL the time. Honestly, he sometimes has trouble working in another area of the house without me.

Being a more solitary person I sometimes find that frustrating, but most of the time I recognize that after 10 years his love for me has not faded and that he is a very companionate person, always talking to me about every little thing and working with me. I wanted that in a husband. He's also stretched and grown a lot in that time, realizing that sometimes I need space and giving it to me because he loves me.

We spend a lot of time together because we like each other's company. It's also easier because our schedules are pretty much the same.

I voted "fair amount" - meaning several hours per day. Mostly it is with the kids, but also some time alone watching TV, talking, date night (once per month), and some other stuff.

I put pretty rare, I work dayshift usually 10 hours, she works night or evenings anywhere from 4 to 12 hour shifts. Thats what we've had to do to make sure someone is always home for our disabled daughter. We're planning on going to a marriage conference in November which will be our first weekend away from the kids in 5 years.

We've been married for almost 31 years, and we have grown apart in our interests. We take separate vacations and we don't have very much alone time together. The strange thing is, I'm happier with my life now than I have ever been before!

We eat dinner together most every night and are at home together at night, but not always doing everything together at home. We have a date night every week and attend to church together.

My husband has a crazy work schedule, so we don't have many days off together. Plus he is a morning person, and I am a night person. So we try to squeeze in as much as we can when we can. I would say between 6-8 most evenings, we do something together. Usually dinner, walk then tv.

Most weekends we do something out, dinner or movie, pool, etc. And then on his weekend off, we always go out of town on a day trip. So we do quite a bit together, but I do a lot on my own with my friends, as he goes to bed really early. He also likes to be at home, and I like people.

We do spend a lot of time together - but because our children are still young and quite demanding we still have to set time aside to touch base. Work also gets in the way - we are very busy as a family, dh runs 2 businesses from home and that brings a number of related stresses. We try and have some talking time nearly every day - I find if we don't have this time then we are not on the same page for the week and then niggles arise and in me my frustrations come out passive aggresive in front of the kids

We spend a lot of time together. We do all our stuff together, we get groceries together, we go everywhere together. We rarely, if ever (I do maybe a couple times a year) go out with friends and such without the other. We are content to spend our evenings home together watching tv. Some of our best evenings are with a pizza and a movie on our couch with our pets. We've been married a little over three years.

Yes, and it is because we love too..we truly are best friends, partner's, lovers, workers together in Christ and I am so eternally thankful for our relationship.. The big divider for us is only I like the computer more and she likes tv but it works out well...we cook together, shop together, and have even been in the hospital together!

We spend lots of time together! We each inherited a business, and we work together on running them. Really, though, we only spend about 2 hours a day on work, plus maybe a week of long days a couple of times a year, so we have lots of time to spend together. We even are online together, or at least at the same time, because we have computers side by side in our offices. I praise Jesus Christ that I can spend so much time with my beloved wife and sons!

dh and I are very different. He is energetic, goal oriented and very sociable. He volunteers and goes to a lot of community meetings, especially now that he's retired.

I'm kind of low energy. We used to go on long walks, but now they're short because of my knee problems. I like to read, paint and talk on the phone.

However, we do spend time together and work on finding mutual activities. We spend most Saturdays together - at the park, canoeing, a movie BBQs, whatever. Then one day a week we babysit the grandkids together. Once a week a he leads a life group at our house. We sit around the house and talk or play scrabble. No tv.

I think it is a balance. Sometimes it gets off balance and we have to work on our schedule and make allowances for each others' needs. We have been married 47 years and love each other.

I voted "fair amount" because my dh works so many hours. However, when he's not at work, he's home with us, and over the course of a week we do end up spending many hours a day together.

We do a lot of "just being". Eating dinner together, sitting together quietly, chatting quietly in our room while the baby falls asleep. We rarely go out to eat, and very rarely watch a movie, although dh has brought home a few of Lee Stroble's videos which we enjoyed watching together.

Somehow this made me smile for it almost sounds cute that you were both in the hospital together even though being in the hospital is not the best of circumstances for anyone.

Nice marriage relationship testimony you both share!

I voted "all the time", but I really thought and realized it's more like "All the time we CAN". He works as much as 18 hours some days...so basically every moment that he's HERE, we're together. We don't get much time so we cherish all we have.

I said a fair amount. We used to work together and I have to say that was a bit too much for me. I like my time with him but I also enjoy some time away from him. Most of our free time is spent together. We also like running errands together. We love to grocery shop together. We ride bikes together. We walk the dog together. We love to go to Starbucks together and chat or read the paper together. In other words he is the first person I would choose to hang out with.

All the time. DH works a lot of hours, but when he's home, we're together. We spend most of our time outside.

I really think spending time together should be a priority. If something else is coming before a spouse (tv, internet, and I've been guilty at times), then shut it off. It feels good.

I said a fair amount...but I could have probably answered a lot. Except for work (and necessary errands like the grocery, etc.) we are together almost all the time...because I can't think of anywhere I'd rather be than with the wonderful man to whom I'm married. I admit that we spend a lot of time watching tv and on our laptops...but even then we're usually doing it side by side and we'll chat about what's on or something we're reading on the internet. I love being with my husband...even when it's just lounging around the house doing nothing...he's an amazing blessing to me and I feel like the luckiest girl in the world to be called his wife!
