Thanks for answering that question. I can't remeber the exact thought I was having when I asked it[&o], but I think I make have been thinking of the feel good religions doctrine. That one, simply promotes ww. It requires no firm foundation or anything to sand on but sinking sand.

I have heard it said that someone like this is sanctified and saved because of ignorance. What do you think about this and this type of Christianity?

I haven't read all the pages of posts, but I would say that my gut is telling me, uhhhhh, no. Being wishy-washy is a choice, not ignorance in regard to never being told. I believe the ignorance refered to in the Bible is that of never being told.

Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
Matt 7:16 (KJV)

As much as it is possible to "know" if anyone is saved we must make our assessments on what they say or do. The people you describe are not displaying the type of behavior that would seem to scream "I'm a Christian".

While I could certainly be wrong I know of no scripture that says anything like "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him OR was ignorant should not perish, but have everlasting life".

I think that the people telling you that are probably mistaken or perhaps hoping it is true because the recognize something wrong in their own lives.

I believe they were referring to Heb 5:2 when I heard the comment. "He can have compassion on those who are ignorant and going astray, since he himself is also subject to weakness."

I'm not saying it is correct... I'm just relating a general comment heard elsewhere.
