Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha! quote:
ORIGINAL: DenimDiva I don't go up to them and say "You look fat today" or "You look old today." I am just thinking -- Imagine doing that! Oh, my!

COVAAN_MESHUGA'S DRIVER'S LICENSE THREAD reminded me of this thread. In the ordeal that I explained in the other thread, my SIL was with me. I have never thought of myself as an attractive woman. The highest compliment I have ever given my appearance is "average" - and that's when I'm dressed up all the way. Anyway, the lady at DMV was trying to show me something on the computer and a picture popped up on the monitor. I made a comment about the pretty lady in the picture and my SIL gave me the strangest look. When I asked her about the look, she couldn't believe that I didn't recognize the picture or the woman in it. The lady at DMV had to go back in and show me what my SIL was giggling about...... the picture was my DL picture and it was taken in January 1995 - right around the time of my 30th birthday. It was kind of strange because, just for a moment, I saw myself from someone else's pov. ETA- If I had realized that was my picture, I wouldn't have thought that woman was pretty because I would've been too busy seeing the "flaws" like the scar from the dog bite when I was eight, etc.

Now, that's a real lesson! But my license picture is truly the ugliest photo I have ever seen of ANYONE! Seriously! I am so embarrassed that I just got through putting another photo of myself over it, which I will remove upon upon demand.

I definitely do not see myself as others do. They will say something about me very nice usually, & I'm looking around to see who they are talking about. Because they couldn't mean me.
