What is an ideal date for you?

I know these two are going to sound hopelessly romantic, but 2 ideal dates for me are
1. going ice skating together
2. being taken rowing in a rowboat

Tinkerbell_ -> RE: dream date (6/21/2008 2:03:31 PM)

A pro ball game, with a dog and beer, followed by an amusement park trip. [:D]

Pauley464 -> RE: dream date (6/21/2008 2:24:21 PM)

Dinner someplace quiet and intimate and conversation.

or

An evening stroll along the river walk in Cincinnati.

Prairiehiker -> RE: dream date (6/21/2008 4:27:58 PM)

My dream date with be with my dream man and it really wouldn't matter what we do as long as we're connecting. If we're not really connecting, a man can take me on a gondola ride to the moon and I'd consider it a nightmare.

Having said that, I thoroughly enjoy the outdoors, so anything to do with hiking/climbing/bouldering/mountain biking with a man that I like would be a dream date.

humbleinspirit -> RE: dream date (6/21/2008 4:40:39 PM)

I am not really sure what my dream date would be as I hardly ever, ever date, if at all! Eating at a nice Italian Restaurant would be a good start. [;)]

And there's plenty of nice Italian restaraunts in Boston! I ate at some place called Sarafino's or something like that. It was somewhere near North Station and it was sooooo yummy!

Now was it in the North End? That is one of my favorite places to eat! [sm=chef.gif]

Yes, it was in the North End. Very BIG portions too! I'd love to go back there next time I'm in Boston if I could find it again.

humbleinspirit -> RE: dream date (6/21/2008 6:15:41 PM)

Yes, a lot of places come and go, but there is a lot of good places to eat in the North End though.

Prairehiker, you sound like a lot of guys' dream date!!!!![:D]

For mountain biking do you mean the bicycle kind or the motor kind?

Grace-N-Mercy -> RE: dream date (6/21/2008 7:01:31 PM)

A walk on the beach, arm in arm, and a kiss at sunset. Of course before sunset, we'll play on the beach... build sand castles, bury each other in the sand, play a little volleyball, go for a swim, etc.

Oh, I saw something like this on a profile today: We could travel to the middle east to share the gospel and then sing to each other from our adjacent prison cells. [:D]

broyce1981 -> RE: dream date (6/21/2008 8:07:49 PM)

A nice picnic is always enjoyable for me. Maybe someplace like Fort Williams which is about 10 minutes from me. It's my favorite place in the world!

RosieCotton -> RE: dream date (6/21/2008 8:39:00 PM)

to spend the day fishing!!!! [:D][:D][:D]
edited to add.....if we did catch any fish, bring it to a restaurant that would cook it for us, for dinner!!!! [:D]
followed by coffee at starbucks!!!! [:)]

I don't do ice skating anymore cause I'm tired of the cracks when I fall. And for some reason whenever I take a girl rowing she gets upsets when I want her to row. I just don't understand women I guess!

Seriously though, any time I spend with my sweetie would be a dream date.

Maybe a walk around a small lake followed by a short adventure in the woods

Thanks Jewel. That's sweet! Now, if you can convince just one man to see me as a dream date, I'll be your best friends for life...lol.

I do the bicycle kind. In fact, I'm taking my daughter to a downhill mountain biking ride in Whistler (world famous for downhill skiing) sometime this summer. It's like skiing down from the top of the mountain but only on a mountain bike. I hope we make it down in one piece.

shemaromans -> RE: dream date (6/22/2008 12:02:19 AM)

I'm pretty easy going about activities as long as we have time to interact. After dating for a while, it would fun just to hang out on the couch, snuggle, watch a movie, and eat some popcorn.

BugLady -> RE: dream date (6/22/2008 12:59:50 AM)

...let's see I'm pretty easy to please. I can think of a lot of things, but none of them really dream date stuff... but then I think a dream date requires a dream date, if ya know what I mean? [sm=raisedbrows.gif] Right about now, I'd consider going to see Get Smart as the best date ever!!!

I just saw Get Smart and it's hilarious! I love Steve Carell and The Rock. Anne Hathaway is so pretty it's almost unfair, lol! It's a good way to kill a couple of hours even if you don't have a date. I like all the silliness.

BugLady -> RE: dream date (6/22/2008 1:12:36 AM)

Thanks, Prairie! It does look hilarious. I'm going whether I can make a date out of it or not! Get Smart was such a funny series. I wanted to be Agent 99. [:)]

mutinywxgirl -> RE: dream date (6/22/2008 7:14:19 AM)

Agreed!!!!! I want to see that movie too. It would be a great date - not sure about a dream date, but a great one, nonetheless. Guess I'll be going alone.

RosieCotton -> RE: dream date (6/22/2008 9:39:42 AM)

Get smart was a series???
what was it?

BugLady -> RE: dream date (6/22/2008 10:02:46 AM)

Rosie,

Get Smart was an American comedy television series that satirized the secret agent genre. Created by Mel Brooks and Buck Henry, the show starred Don Adams as Maxwell Smart, Agent 86 of CONTROL, a secret U.S. government spy agency.

Get Smart aired on the NBC television network from September 18, 1965 to April 12, 1969, after which it moved to CBS for its final season, running from September 26, 1969 to September 11, 1970. A total of 138 episodes were broadcast. The show was quite popular in the mid-1960s, and continues to enjoy a cult following as it is often rerun around the world in syndication.

Prairiehiker -> RE: dream date (6/22/2008 10:31:41 AM)

I only knew about Get smart from the people I work with. I've never seen any episode, and I didn't really have any idea what to expect. I wasn't even born when the original series was on.

I saw it with my daughter and my sister. It's my sister's 56 birthday ( and she's still single.) They both loved the movie. I hope there's a sequel.

willfs -> RE: dream date (6/22/2008 10:58:15 AM)

Here is one from my highschool days:

We go to the mall to hang out for a while. She wears jean cut offs. We walk around the mall awhile. Maybe get an ice cream or something. Then we go to the movie theater at the mall.

Present day: I wanna keep that one for me. Maybe if it comes true I will share.
