One thread for all the births?

I read the thread. The concept is not for me.

I realize that a thread can be removed at any time for any reason. However, these threads were special to these ladies and they were not in violation of TOS. If the threads going to be removed, then it would've been best to let the ladies know ahead of time.

I know I'll probably be told that I'm unfairly applying scripture to this situation, but there is that passage which says if you have issue with a brother or sister in Christ, then approach them individually, etc ...

Since all these people seem to have issues with our stalking threads, why couldn't they have messaged us and told us first ... at which point we WOULD have requested a subfolder or something like that, to contain our threads in one location ....

People have requested subfolders in the past. :) I think back then they didn't see the need or something like that.

I agree, I've seen a mothering/birth WO subfolder requested many times, but the powers that be have always decided against it. I've always thought it would be a good idea. I'm sorry for all of the women whose stories were lost, and for those who were looking forward to having their own stalking threads.

Wait, did all this start happening today? I started seeing the "moved" things earlier today but I might not have been paying attention. Anytime I email him he usually emails me back the next day in the morning or afternoon.

Yes ... within a few hours of the "concern" being expressed in this very thread this morning, the threads were moved and then deleted. No effort was made to give anyone advanced notice or anything.

Oh man. So it hasn't even been 12 hours before all this stuff happened and they were moved and then deleted?

Arrrggghh. This is very frustrating, and I'm so sorry to the ladies who lost their threads. (((hugs)))
Birth is an incredibly important event, and I certainly don't think it was too much to have a thread for each woman during that time. I know I was looking forward to the encouragement when the time came. It will be really hard to keep things straight in the one stalking thread...

I got a message from Stephanie earlier and she was looking for her encouragement after getting home from the hospital today ... and was quite upset that it was suddenly gone.

Poor Steph - and she already has so much going on at the moment.

I am so upset here also thinking about Brandy suddenly finding out her thread is gone ............

I can imagine. What a cold and heartless thing to do. No discussion, no concern for how this would affect the women involved... just nothing.

It really is sad and frustrating. The whole thing totally, completely hoovers.

It appears that we are no longer allowed to give individual love, care and attention to our pregnant and newly-delivered ladies, it has to all be combined in one thread.

There have been a lot of stalking/welcome threads around recently - but it was just because there happened to be a fair few babies due around now. Normally, you just get one or two at a time. If people had just been patient, these threads would have naturally slipped down the folder as usual.

I think its clear that there is a NEED for another sub forum OR let us post the threads again.

I tried to get through the new one, but it was filled with other people posting to so and so, and I don't *know* everyone that's expecting, so I had to wade through to see if there was news on the ones I had been following. Its just the same as the pregnancy folder, seems like a duplication to me and a waste of a thread.

Exactly. When ladies had their individual threads, you could come to Women Only Personal and see RIGHT AWAY if there had been any activity in their thread, if anything had happened. Now we have to, as Nicole, says, WADE through the bulk thread without being able to see where there had been any news.

I don't know if it's the hormones or sleep deprivation or what, but I am still really upset and crying over this.

I totally agree. I don't know all the ladies who are due to have a baby soon. I had a hard enough time keeping up with all my friends' lives and now it is going to take even more time scanning through another thread that has way too many pages. That is why I loved the idea of every lady having her own baby thread. In my opinion those threads are very important and special to all of us. This is why I mainly keep up with people on facebook and myspace now. It is really hard for me to come here and try to catch up with the pregnancy thread because it is always so busy... and well I am not pregnant so I don't have much input . And now I will have 2 really busy threads to try to keep up with. I barely read the pregnancy thread anymore because I got behind and can't catch up... and if I don't keep up with these ladies elsewhere I get totally out of the loop and have no clue what is going on.

Sub forums or personal women's threads would be awesome!

Yep Manda (are we agreeing ) that's the annoying thing, you could quickly scroll down and see if the person you know has had any new posts and it saved time when you only have a few seconds, now its just too long to go through all the posts and then you feel guilty that you didn't reply to the other people in the thread.

I think some threads did jump the gun a little, maybe it only needs to be done a week or so before the due date, but like Manda said and I said before, it was only because there is so many all due at the same time that it seems like they are taking over.

Meaning a lot of us will miss a lot of news on the ladies we are trying to follow. Which also means a lot of pregnant ladies are going to feel really upset not getting the attention they need and deserve

I was thinking the same thing. It just appears to be a duplicate of the pregnancy folder.

I liked being able to break things down individually as well. Each woman, pregnancy and baby is unique and I liked being able to post to each woman as though she were an individual..... not just another woman getting ready to have a baby.

Some ladies have their babies early so maybe 2 or 3 weeks before their due date is fine?

If I don't want to read a thread I don't read it so I don't know why it would bother anyone to see a ton of threads. Just skip those ones and read the ones you want to.

Most of the threads start at 37 weeks, as that is "full term" so baby can come at any point from there on in (that, and it alerted everyone else as to how close they really were to giving birth) And yeah -- there is a huge list of preggy women right now.

A subfolder was definitely the way to go ... I just hope that it is possible to reinstate the threads with ALL of the posts still in tact.

I hate to stick my nose in here, because with the way the posts are going, y'all might tar and feather me. But...

Do y'all not realize that you can still give individual love in a PFY thread? If you want to get into personal gory details, do that in the WO/PI stalking thread. But individual love, care and attention can still happen in PFY.

Yes, you can. However, your posts are getting all mingled in with a bunch of other posts and it just doesn't seem as personal.

And I'm just going to disagree with you, not tar and feather ya!

Tricia,

Most of us ladies don't go into those threads. I know for myself personally...today was the FIRST time I had ventured into that discussion in my nearly 6 months of posting here at CW.

I think the other thing that is really bugging people is there wasn't warning (a few hours of when the threads were moved). But then they went from MOVED to GONE!!!! Hormones are crazy...especially when pregnant. I know how I get when it's that TOM.

Love you ladies...I hope we can come up with a resolution of some sort here at CW.

How would they get mingled in with other posts in a PFY thread? (Or is the PFY acronym confusing? That's Personally For You, where there are threads dedicated to one person.) I'm not talking about the one thread in WO/PI.
