Kara, I've seen threads reinstated intact... I'm pretty sure one of them was mine that I've seen that happen to.

Last communication I had from Fritz was to say that the matter was being reviewed, and asking for my patience while the review and decision were being made.

So I *was* waiting for Fritz - that was when the threads had "only" been moved, and not deleted.

Things are always in review. Previous decisions can be re-reviewed and changed.

Okay, well than CAN you answer this??? I'm not asking if it will be done, just is it possible ... is it technically possible for Fritz to reinstate a deleted thread with all of the posts intact? Or once they are gone are they really gone from everywhere? Once again, not whether they will bring back our threads ... just if it is technologically able to happen.

Yes, it is technically possible for a thread to be reinstated after having been removed from the public viewing area. That has happened in the past - we've sometimes removed threads to clean them up away from public eyes, then returned them to the public viewing area.

Thank you for answering that. I just didn't want a whole bunch of ladies getting their hopes up about threads possibly being reinstated if it wasn't technically possible ... that would create even more tension what with our already raging preggy hormones.

So what it boils down to is that you are going to have the same problem in PFY now as what was complained about in WO/PI.

I don't post in PFY. I wonder how many of the people who do post there are going to have a problem with this.

Also,

Sounds an awful lot like it's just another chat thread.

That's what PFY is designed for - personal threads. It's not the same problem in PFY as in WO/PI since PFY is for personal threads. They won't have a problem with it since that's the definition of the PFY folder.

That's where subscribing to threads is helpful. Once you've found a thread and sub to it you can find it no matter where it is.

I've noticed when I come in through some portals that there is no subscription link. I've never been able to find one when I come in through ibelieve.com (not saying it's not there, I've just never found it).

I know. I was just saying that if there is no subfolder made and it has to be this way... then it's like just take the lemons and make the best lemonade you can with them. It won't be the same, and it may be too inconvenient for some, but it may be the way that it has to be. <shrugs>... unless majority rules (but I thought they didn't here). Lol.

I am not posting my objections here for myself - I have two teenage children and my family is complete.

My concern is not for me, but for others: ie what if it's too inconvenient for the very women who need the love and support most?

Yes, and 99% of the personal threads are started by the person - not by a third party to support that person.

I just logged into ibelieve, went to a thread i hadn't read before and subscribed to it. Then I went to "myforums" and all my subbed threads were there. I did notice that there isn't the "next unread subscription" but there is a list of threaeds I'm subbed to.

Tricia, would you be able to send Fritz a synopsis of this thread (in case he doesn't want to read it himself) ... basically that we preggies would like to see the threads reinstated in the WO-PI forum, but in a subfolder specifically for these threads??? That way each person could quickly find their own personal encouraging comments when they need them most (without wading through a bunch of other stuff, or worrying that intimate prayers and details are being read by both genders in PFY)

So to keep it all straight, we could have links to all the preggy PFY threads in the W/O folder, then in the PFY threads, we could have links back to the W/O folder containing all the personal information?

Surely you have a dizzying intellect.

Seems easier just to provide the sub-folder that people have been asking about for a while, especially as it would solve more problems then just this one.

Manda, I knew what you meant. What I was getting at is that it's possible that there will be no subfolder and nothing will change that. If there isn't, then people have to make due with what they have or just don't do. I'm sure there will come a solution that's better though.

People don't mind if another person starts a thread for their pregnancy stalking, if it remains in the PI folder ... they would get more upset about someone starting a thread about this sensitive time in a mixed gender folder ...

I know I wouldn't want to talk about my impending birth in a mixed gender folder, even if I did have to split my posts between generic info and personal info (which still strikes me as just silly).

And just who determines what is personal? Physical details about the birth? Specific natural methods for natural induction that involve private time with my husband?

Hmm -- a talkative bunch??? How bout a bunch of women with raging hormones who found the world fell in around them this aft ... yeah -- that's conversation worthy.

How are we going to know it's there unless we go to PFY? I don't care for PFY.

I'm sorry, but I don't think that the feelings of the women who the threads were dedicated to were taken into consideration in this matter. I don't doubt that the matter was thought out, I just don't think it was thought out enough.

So, it would make any pregnancy or birth threads just not "fit". *Especially* as most if not all of personal threads are light-hearted chatty threads, not serious life and death matters like pregnancy and childbirth.

Me neither. It's overwhelming and appears to be dominated by people who spend a lot of time there.

I know some of you hate them or don't use them, but using Subscriptions is a great way to keep track of threads. Then the threads "sinking down" the PFY list wouldn't be a problem at all.

Sorry, I think it's expecting a lot. I wouldn't have a clue about how to use Subscriptions. And I have also noticed that some people are having trouble with some of their Subscribed threads at the moment - making it fiddly and not straightforward.

And the threads would still sink down, because they wouldn't be as popular as the threads already there - and the only people who would see them would be the ones who just happened upon the Baby Watch thread.

I don't know if it's the hormones or sleep deprivation or what, but I am still really upset and crying over this.

So are Manda and myself ... we alternate between crying and fuming.

For me it's neither hormones nor sleep deprivation, I am just desperately upset as I empathise with the ladies here who have had the rug pulled out from under them. I just can't seem to get past how this was done, with apparently so little thought for the ones it would affect most.

OK- I just came in through ibelieve.com and found what you are talking about. Not much point in subbing to a thread when you have to go that route.

Couldn't the person who starts the Stalking thread for the person post a link in the monthly thread?
