As inspired by another poster: Imagine this: You have planned to have a hot date (because all dates should be hot!). You're given enough money to buy ten things from the dollar store (so $10 plus tax...), and that is the only thing you can buy for such date. What do you buy? What do you plan to do with what you buy??

Okay, I'll go first. First: Dining. I shall grab a bag of cookies, and a bag of chips. Plus 2 drinks (hopefully they'll have Dr Pepper in stock!). That's four items. Then I'll buy 2 water guns for entertainment. I'll also peruse the toy aisle and decide upon two other toys that we can play with. Perhaps those rubber band nerf type shooters. That's eight. Item nine will be a cute gift bag to carry everything so as to not spoil the surprise. And for item ten a candy bar to share the end to a sweet night. (Surely ppl can get more creative than this?)

- crayons
- balloons
- a drink (dr. pepper maybe?)
- bag of army men (green or tan doesnt matter)
- little ball (from a game like jacks or marbles)
- greeting card
- silk/paper flower
- water guns (pack of 2)
- cheese product
- little debbie snack cake
i will start things off by presenting my HOT date with a flower followed by a greeting card with original crayon drawings. i'm nervous with the flower idea but it'd make a good memento of our first date if we're married. since this is a HOT date, i think it'd be fun to cool down with a water gun fight. the balloons could turn into a disaster so i will play that by ear. at this point, i'll wish i bought a towel to dry off. after i macguverly crafted the cheese and cake into cheesecake, we will have a snack and drink our dr pepper (didnt have money for two straws). then we can play army man bowling or even jacks (or marbles as intended).

Let's see, I think first I'd buy two of those Dinty Moore microwave meals. You know the ones - they're vacuum packed instead of being frozen, so you could eat them without heating if needed. A box of plastic flatware would be next. Then I'd buy a couple of Cokes out of the cooler that stands at the counter and a box of Little Debbie cakes. I'd also get a disposable paper table cloth to cover those horrible picnic tables at the park (They don't bother me, but I'm assuming any lady I'm with will be more refined than I am.) After dinner, we'd take a walk down by the lake and watch kids wading in the water catching crawdads.

Oooooh...this is fun except for items in our dollar store cost way more than a dollar....it's almost Walmart pricing. But if they were a dollar each...I'd but a Frisbee, two bottled water/ice tea, a bag of chips, a bag of cookies for desert, sunblock lotion, a Nerf football, a sandcastle set, and more chips if there's money left! I'll take my date to the beach and play all day long. Now, for another date, I'd buy 5 granola bars, and 5 Gatorade and go hiking.

Hmm.... I'm getting some great ideas here. Don't know how much more creative I can be, but here goes. I'd start by going to the park early and reserving one of their two-seater swings on the 4th of July then go to the dollar store and pick up the following: * Two drinks and two crazy straws - fun way to enjoy a drink, right? * One of those mister-fans... he's a hot date, right? * A couple of toy guns... either water guns or those little nerf things... so we can shoot the whippersnappers who run by or who get out of line (for some reason, I'm feeling a little old today. ) * Some bread (maybe hamburger buns) With the two dollars left over, we'll go to one of the stands and buy some sparklers. Now that we're all set, we'll enjoy the park for a little while, taking turns spinning each other on the merry-go-round or seeing who can go the highest on the swings... and maybe we'll hide behind the trees and soaking poor unsuspecting kids. Then we'll walk around the lake enjoying our drinks and feeding the ducks with the bread. Since it's 4th of July, we'll play with the sparklers as it gets dark, then cuddle on the swing and watch the fireworks.

This is a fun thread! We would buy two pair of swimming goggles and some sunblock. After playing in the water (beach, pool, whatever's available), we would rehydrate with some water (one 6pk bottled water). Then we would don our pirate gear and toys (two sets of three packages) and speak pirate for the rest of the day as we wandered around the beach, swimming pool area (wherever we are) entertaining bystanders and other fellow water enthusiasts.

Let's see, a $1.00 for hot chocolate, a $1.00 for popcorn, a $1.00 for a game to play, $1.00 for a roll of wrapping paper, $1.00 for the ribbon, and the other $5.00 to buy 5 toys. After we finish playing the game, we wrap the toys and give them to toys for tots or another charity.

We have dollar general, which is like walmart pricing, but that is different then the dollar store. I thought of another fun date......... 1 pairs of scissors 1 glue 1 tablets of multi colored paper 1 bottles of glitter 1 package of multi colored, multi sheets of tissue paper 1 package of small brown paper bags 2 boxes of cookies 1 two liter of soda 1 package of paper cups. He and I would go to the beach, set up a picnic table, and makes designer bags with the children so they would have somewhere cool to put the things they found on the beach while beach combing....... After all the bags were done, the area cleaned up, we would join the children on the beach...oohing and aahing over everything they found. What a fun day that would be......... I really like this idea Joy.... Fun thread FB!!!! Here's mine. Two sodas and a walk in one of my favorite walking parks. If he is that hot, I am going to want to go out with him again, so I am saving my other 8.00 for 3 more dates. Hopefully on date 5 he's buying, and we can do something on his budget....

this is such a fun topic. I just wish I know a man I can do this with. Most men thinks this is sorta corny. I remember going out on a blind date and I brought a Kinder egg and we built the "surprise" together. He thought was sweet. I like silly things like this. I think my funnest date was with a guy who took me by the river in the middle of the night and we skipped rocks for a few hours. That was priceless.

Jim and I just hang at his house - talking for hours and watching sports -where I impress him with the odd things that I know. The best thing we do, though, is go to church together. Nothing beats that!
