I am just mystified at all of the Obama posts - "He's Muslim, no he's Hindu. His healtcare plan is going to kill you."

Why? Why do people make this stuff up?

I think the conservative bloggers must be scared that Obama is going to win it all - otherwise why all the fuss, the energy?

Obama Watch would be a good title for the Election 2008 folder on this forum. I start to roll my eyes after a while. Obama certainly isn't above criticism and there are plenty of substantive issues to cover. Unfortunately, they don't, IMO.

What is wrong with people in this forum looking at and examining Obama?

This election period has been going on for how long yet we still know very little about the man and and how he reasonably and realisticly plans to deal with issues and threats to this country.

He talks about change, but if you look past the rhetoric and his lack of details as to what needs to be changed, you find nothing new. You see the same old proposals that people on the far left, and much of the Democratic Party has been pushing for decades.

He plays the race card and then makes himself out to be the victim so that anyone who disaggrees with him and his views will be seen as racist.

He has people raise issues then sacrifices them and plays the victim claiminmg that those people said things that he does not believe. Yet he fails to clearly state and support what he does believes.

He says what the crowd in front of him wants to hear.

Obama is a politician who is attempting to use smoke and mirrirs and all kinds of opolitical tricks and connections that the Democratic Party and the far left have nurtured over the years.

Obama is a politician who is being given a free pass by the mass media, in that they refuse to ask him hard questions, examine his stand, examine what he says, and the issues.

We have a right to be affraid of this man because we are being made to accept him as our next president without being told very much about him, or his world view.

We have a right to be affraid because we are being made to view this man as the savior of America and the world merely because he is about change.

Well, maybe because we're getting ready to hand the reins of power off to a new guy and we want to make sure the new guy is as vetted as possible. My question is, why do people such as yourself consistently seek to quell any questioning of this guy who no one seems to know much of anything about? What are you worried about if your guy is so clean?

And, you're as independent as I am. You've made your opinions well-known.

Maybe if the Aluminum Hat crowd would contain itself, it would be easier to draw attention to reality-based issues. Perhaps you could speak with them for us.

There is more than one candidate and people seem to refuse to look at Mr. War for Life (not for life as in pro-life because obviously McCain IS NOT, but as in let's be in war for the rest of our lives) and seem to be primarily focused on Obama.

At least with McCain we have some idea where he stands on issues because he has a record that can be looked at. Obama has no such record, so we have no real idea where he stands on anything other than to pull troops from Iraq regardless of the cost in the short term, as well as the long term.

so we have no record to judge him on and yet we do so well at judging him on it. :-\

Furthermore, McCain HAS a record worth being criticized and no one does it? Are we being partial? Really wanting what is best for the country or are we being something completely different?

McCain's record has not been criticized.

Where have you been?

McCain and his record may not be talked about so much in this forum as Obama"s but there is much to be critical of, or to at least question. Most of which could be and has been summarized in the way that he has repeatedly crossed the political aisle to work with Democrats so much.

Obama's only record seems to be the people he has been associated with and the way he rose through the ranks of the Chicago, Illinois, and national Demiocrat Party political machine.

I must admit the I have found the "All Obama, All The Time" coverage both amusing and enlightening.

One thing I love about internet forums....they are like live psych labs...this particular forum gives a great peek into the inner workings of the fundy mind.

Fascinating really, and quite educational. [:D]

So, I frequent a forum who's political section is Obama Watch too. Only it's "Ooohhh. I love Obama. I swoon over Obama. Obama kissed my baby!! Death to evil Republicans! Long live Obama! Obama will save the world.".

Obama is getting a great deal of attention from both sides. Why would anybody be surprised about that? And why would anybody be surprised that conservatives don't like his policies and don't want him to win? [8|]

15 out of 25 topics here on the first page have the Obama name in them. I'm more than sure that a majority of the other 10 discuss him heavily.

Yah, I think one-stop thread for both candidates would help things up and stop redundant threads.
Anyways, I have encountered other forums that discuss Obama too.
Actually, there is one forum that is quite...harsh on Bush and McCain and the Republicans..

Let's face it, it's nearing election and people want to talk about the candidates and the parties.
So for every forum that seems to discuss Obama a lot, I can encounter another that is heavily anti Bush or McCain and Republicans.

It all depends on your perspective.
If you are conservative, you're going to notice the conservative bashing forums more.
If you are more liberal, you will notice the forums that criticize Obama more.

Redundant? Well-I can see absolutely NOTHING redundant whatsoever about "Obama is a Closet Muslim." "Obama is a Closet Buddhist" & "Obama SAYS he's a Christian But He's not Because He's a Liar".

And, see, I have this thing about reputable sources - perhaps you find some of the garbage threads on this site fine - I do not. And I mean that about the sensational McCain threads as well - of which I have spoken against.

Well, if you're talking to me - I have said quite clearly that I agree with all of Obama's stances except his overtly pro-choice stance.

And with McCain - I don't think if he's in charge, RVW would be overturned either + McCain is more wishy-washy on the environment (though he is targeting environmentalists in his latest campaign - if he promises to sign Kyoto, I'd definitely consider him); and I do not like his war rhetoric.

I just do not like people who post from blogs. And it is plain to see that a fair amount do on here. [:D] All you have to do is look and see that people think Obama's Muslim, Hindu, part of cult! Unreal! I mean it's so ridiculous, it's funny! And, it serves only to water down the credibility of those that post from these silly sites.

And btw, I have defended McCain on the few sensational eye sore threads that came out over him as well.

I am not, and never have been registered to any political party - so, yes, HighPlainsDrifter - I am an independent no matter what you say [:)]

Because the GOP has never had to face a candidate like Obama before, and they're unsure how to address him.
